Bloody Graphics!!!!

did you set your ingame dxlevel to 60? Cause I wouldn't doubt that is why it's crashing..it IS a DirectX 9 game

the lowest i've heard HL2 supports is DX7 ? how can you even run it ?

yes that is most likely why it crashes...DX7 is what is required for your video card

That's an integrated video card. Go to start, run and type dxdiag for more info.

i dont think hl2 runs dx6, all ive seen is dx7 support

You will enjoy it a lot more if you buy a decent mid-range GFX card like a ATI Radeon 9800 Pro / XT (about £100). I recommend an ATI card over Nvidia because Valve partnered with ATI for developing HL2 so the game favours their cards more. If you can afford it (and have a suitable PC) go for the x800 Pro (VIVO) - I get around 80 f/s with my x800 on the stress test, and on FarCry I was only about 60 and Doom 3 about 60 again (Doom3 favours OpenGL optimised cards like Nvidias)

you could buy a Radeon 9600pro for less then 110euro... and it will run HL2 MUCH better with DX9 features

It should default to DX9 graphics anyway. You shouldnt have to change a thing.
