Blue screen when I quit HL2

Well after I had finally installed this game, whenever I tried running it, it kept saying it couldn't set the video mode, and basically wouldn't run. So I upgraded my detonator drivers to the latest ones and I could play ...

Now this time I could play fine and it ran brilliantly, except for the occasional stuttering. So I disabled my Creative Audigy 2 and tried using my Nforce2 soundstorm onboard sound instead which so far, seems to have stopped the stuttering.

But now, and occasionally whilst I was using my Audigy 2, whenever I quit I get the blue screen
I'm sure once or twice it quit alright. But now all the time I get the god dam blue screen and have to restart

Ah, now I also get the blue screen if I try and search for server on CS:S - this is such a joke

Can anyone help me out here? thanks :flame:

Well I think i've pin pointed the problem ...

I tryed disabling ALL sound devices but still got the blue screen.
So then I went back to the 61.77 detonator drivers, and got the same problem as before (could not set video mode). And so, with these drivers it only worked in a window, but it didn't get the blue screen when I quit unlike the 66.93 detonator drivers (latest).

So I think it is a case of finding some driveres on Guru3D which aren't gonna have either problem.

I'll post back when I find the holy driver =)

that's weird - it just started working
I enabled wait for v-sync, and when I quit it switches straight back to desktop.
I'm also using the 66.81 drivers (www.guru3d.com) which may be helping
