Yeah Blue Shift is pretty short. I think it was just that valve was selling the HD pack for HL and added a mission pack with it LOL

that was totally lame... that wasnt a speedrun, plus it took you 40 minutes to speedrun through it

IIRC, Blue Shift was part of the Dreamcast version, and when that got canned, so did BS, and then fans asked if it could still be released.
