When I bought Half Life 2, I had never played anything but Uplink. So I played Half Life 2 first, fairly confident of the story of the first one. Once I completed it, I went back to Half Life Source and played it through...(almost at the end now)

Anyway, I was looking down my Steam games list and noticed Opposing Force. I suddenly realised this was one of the expansions for HL1. (I think?) I knew that the other expansion was called Blue Shift so I looked for it. But no luck. So there are a few possibilities:
  • It is tacked onto the end of Half Life
  • It is tacked onto the end of Half Life: Source
  • It is included in Oposing Force
  • Or, it is not included at all and I should track down a copy.

Now, I imagine it is the last option...so, I was just wondering whether, if I bought it, it would recognize Steam and install itself there. Or atleast recognise Half Life and install it somewhere else. Or will I need a new copy of Half Life just to play it? And if so, is it worth it?

It wasn't made by Valve I don't think and they may not be allowed to put it on Steam.

that sucks i think they should make blueshift longer just cause its a great idea of being a black mesa guard, anyways yeah its won't run on steam

That sucks. I'll just play it at my friend's house...

Opposing force is made by Gearbox too, but If they made changes to the engine making incompatable.... ok.
