cool! i remember way back when the colors were all being changed I meant to ask/try then too.. damn I can be slow getting around to things sometimesChris_D said:Yeah, and as another note to OCybrManO it's really easy as well.
OCybrManO said:You either use PNG transparency which doesn't display well on IE (last time I checked) or you use shitty on/off GIF transparency which doesn't allow it to have smooth transitions.
On the other hand, faking it works for everyone and looks just as good... until you change the forum colors.
Chris_D said:What colours would you guys like to see? What colours would you consider original, compared to the other HL2 sites (so we don't get called copy-cats ) and what colours do you consider are halflifeish?

Errr... yeah it is!!... well... it is now...vegeta897 said:I thought the blue was just in honor of Sept 30...
It's funny because Microsoft used to brag about their native support of the PNG format in IE 4... and yet they still haven't released a browser that actually has full PNG support. It's not going to be fixed until IE7, and only then because a new guy came in and decided to work on it. Also, oddly enough, the Mac version of IE 5 got it right... but no currently available stable version of Windows IE can do it without a hack of some sort (javascript can do it). If Microsoft plays off PNG transparency as a special feature of IE7 (rather than fixing something they promised like four years ago) I'll be pissed. :frown:SimonomiS said:Oooh, using IE now, never knew that. Meh, PNG transparency is good enough for me. Most intelligent people use Firefox anyway. Cept Tr0n.
The carrot means something.OCybrManO said:Let's go back to the Britney Spears pink theme for a day... for old time's sake. I mean, they resurrected the carrot. We might as well do that one, too.

The color is okay but it doesn't go with the tan on the front page.
On the eighth sighting of the Holy Carrot, the forum will enter a final stage of preparation for phase two of Operation Schmoperation... the first of several attempts to take over the world. The details are highly secretive, but I believe the carrot symbolizes vision... as in, The Almighty Turkleton's vision of the future. With the omnipotent short recoil as his right-hand-man the plan is all but certain to succeed. Prepare for the new world... for its creation is at hand! I just hope our noble leaders don't forsake us, their loyal followers, after the dawning of the New Age. Perhaps we will become part of the new ruling class. Oh well, one can only hope.Kamikazie said:what does the carrot mean????
NOW YOU HAVE TO EXPLAIN!!Chris_D said:I've said too much!
Hectic Glenn said:I said on the earlier post i'd like the old blue style back and you listened! (well probably was gonna do it anyway) But i love it, its like going back to early 2004 when i used to spectate the forums, i really like it, feels cosy to me for some reason, not distant like the tan. I'm deff keeping it. Colour matters to me alot it seems.
