Still unfinished (I would'nt class anything I have done so far as finished, I am still learning and hate tutorials :p )

Anyway, any help on optomising it, general improvements and other comments are welcome.

One thing I would like to know is; for a game model do all verts need to be welded? or is intersecting ok? I tried the model into polybump (some crytech model/bump map viewer) to see it rendered real-time and the parts where cylinders intersected (were just going into parts of the model and not welded) were flickering, would this how it would be in game?

Thanks..

i love this
though the texture of the outer metalic ring inside the wheel doesnt look right

Pretty good model.

I asume you mean intersecting geometry and not vertices? Some engines dont seem to mind it, whereas others seem to have strict rules about geometry overlaping (UT2003? being one I think).

Battlefield 1942 is the main engine ive modded and every mod for that has models with geometry that overlaps.

looks pretty good, the polycount is a bit high, and looks kinda simple to lower, but that would lose you some of your detail. just curious, how did you make the tyres ? the spacing seems very irregular between the sections, kinda as if...you made them by extruding a cylinder.

Thanks for the comments so far,

Heh, well i forgot the modifyer to bend it around, or just couldnt use the bend modifier so I just made a cylinder with 30 segments, drew up a circle and some lines going from the centre out to guide me and rearanged verts.

I've removed some of the uneeded details and done lots of welding;

and here is a view of places where the most detail is, if anyone has any improvements please post.

awsome, :) the most origional thing ive seen on the modelling forums in ages.

Improvements? How about some breaks, someone could really hurt themselves. Seriously though, it looks pretty good but I think the seat is an area that could be improved upon. It looks a little too angular IMO, it ought to be possible to use just a few more polys.

Yeh, I agree, I'll go have a look at the saddle on my brothers bmx tomorrow morning. Its always better to see things in real life than in references i suppose :p
