Boeing Tell The World

Actually, Sprafa, the Podkletnov effect isn't superconducting electromagnetic levitation - what the bullet trains use - but something rather new and difficult to pin down...

it's a very improved and modified way of ti, but it's basically an gigantic improvement over the basics used on the trains

Brian theres also a similar story in Mispent Youth by Peter F. Hamilton. The character released a new type of crystal-type thing which had unlimited amount of information storage onto the internet which (Since there was an unlimited amount of information) led to the death of Books,Movies and music as you could just download a hacked version nearly before they had released it.

Arghh...Sprafa edited his post, and made me look stupid.
It was the moths I tell you!

one thing i find interesting ... the waste heat. as maski/y mentioned. for those of you who thing it would only raise temps, think about the flip side of that. with raised temps comes greater evaporation of water, and more moisture in the air. when winter comes along... well uh oh. can we say "new ice age?" it's really quite possible. and then as ice age descends to specific latitudes, we have generally cold areas, with stronger arctic cold fronts. basically, it would mean the weather patterns would be much more volatile, not necessarily warmer temps.

hope they actually do do it right, as maski/y brought forth. i'm betting they do it a specific way though. the only way i've ever thought of something like this to be possible(and more easily done that some other possible methods) would be with electromagnetic fields, and some kind of 3 coil aparatus. in theory(what i've heard) you'd create your own gravity field within your little bubble that's affected by the 3 coils, and so you're not subject to the same forces as if you were in a jet... could make for some high velocity manuevering.

and yeah, they certainly won't do this unless they can convince enough big companies that it would be a money maker. this is the same problem the hydrogen fuel cell people are running in to. transitioning to a hydrogen economy would create a HUGE new infrastructure and create lots of new jobs and revenue, but the oil companies have too much to lose from all this. bleh oh well, i'm off to freeze in a class room maybe. peace....

GO AVS muahaha

I dunno. If this were a true anti-gravity device once you got into a no gravity zone and jumped up into the air the Earth would start moving beneath your feet. Perhaps slowly at first, but should accelerate over time until either A: you left the anti gravity zone or B: The earth would be passing underneath you at the rate of rotation (if you were at the Equator that would be 25,000 MPH (40,225 KPH)). And if you hit a tree at that speed it would hurtzorz!

they reckon it reacts with ambient gravitational forces, not just large Gravity masses. (eg planets, and stars). although the effects are probably more influenced and a exagerated by planets and stars. Its anomalous gravity reactions . possibly a nulifiying effect rather than an anti effect.. but its all centered around zero point energy... the very stuff that keeps everything we can percieve in its manifested state.
