Boondock Saints is just one of the movies I dont get.
Because really it's ****ing garbage. When I first started watching it I was all aboard the "Hell yeah Revenge Fantasy Train" until I got to the street interviews and realized that these people were taking this movie way to ****ing seriously god damn.
Except William Defoe.

I never understood why so many people jerked it over the first one.
The first one is a fun low budget movie, it's just incredibly overrated.
I recall seeing this way back in 8th grade, and then the following year seeing tons of Hot Topic kiddies wearing the shirts.

I first saw it on tv at 3 in the morning with my grandad maybe 2 years ago? Thought it was a made for tv movie on Spike or something at first.

Well no shit willie. Probably half the dialog was replaces with stupid tv swears. Of course thats going to make it suck.
Anyways, I think it could be good. At least, it looks like its in the same vein as the first one. I will watch it. I was surprised to see this when my brother told me about it, because I thought it had been dead in the water for like 6 years or something, and now theres a trailer? wtf

This, pretty much.
The movie was just slow mo standing and shooting broken up by Willem Dafoe being weird. Can't say I was totally impressed after viewing it a second time

I think Rocco's death scene is one of the most visceral and intense scenes I've seen in pretty much any movie. Besides that, all the characters have so much more personality than in 90% of movies and were all played well. Plus, the guy had ****ing six guns strapped to his god damned chest.

Well, hurm, this is hard. Let me start by saying that The Boondock Saints is pretty much my favorite movie of all time. Judge me how you will, that's just how it is.
This is, in no way, a sequel to Boondock Saints. For one thing, absolutely no sequel is necessary. The whole movie is about beginnings, change, loss, the start of a movement. It leaves you satisfied and smiling and not wanting anymore. Seriously, what more is there to have? Any realistic progresson of the story would have them immediately being arrested and imprisoned. This movie has no purpose other than to provide more Boondock Saints. More humor, more guns, more style. No substance at all. I will probably watch this (on DVD or in theater, I can't say). It will be no more than a decent action movie with some uncommonly funny moments. It might be entertaining but it will not be Boondock Saints. They're so smugly aware of what made the first one great they're now just pushing that to the limit and it's pretty sad.
