Ive played wow for the past few months...about 12 hours a day. Suffice to say I am getting bored of it as the server I am on is for the most part empty. I am looking for a good game that will last a while. So no sinlge player games that you beat in 10 hours. Multiplayer would be best as you dont "beat" it and you can play it forever. I was thinking of battlefront 2 but hear it is crap. Can anyone suggest a game to get that is actually worth buying?

I've got the very same thing, go on WoW for 10-30 min, get bored, play CS, play for 10-30 min, go on WoW, rinse, repeat.

That's the one reason I didn't buy WoW.

I meant onto the forums and saw a post about a guy getting to Level 60. He stated that he did it in, like, 20 days. What the hell... that's not the point of a MMORPG.

MMORPG = timesink.

I did start a new char and im a class leader in my other guild(largest on the server) so I cant spend all day on my alt or it looks bad. I also hate leveling again so I wouldn't have the patience to start over.

BF2 is a mixed bag. It can be great fun, but it's also the biggest system hog i've ever played. Not to mention the demo ran better than the full version.

Have you tried Guild Wars?

It's funny but I quit wow in february and now I'm bored, I'm thinking of renewing my sub. But I'm trying not to think about it, I'm also looking for new games :|

I got BF2 when it was released. Played with my bro and he was on a top 10 team in some ladder. They were good but the game got boring fast.

I play some COD:S now but that isn't that great, I find a 1337 spot to machine gun people from and a n00b shoots me and takes my gear only to get killed and let the enemy swarm through.

Diablo 2. it's an rpg, what you're used to, but it's way fun, even on singleplayer, the only time it ever gets boring is when you're stuck on a boss. Which only happens exactly 4 times in the game.

Deus Ex has a good bit of gameplay in it and is extremly cheap to buy these days. Brilliant if you like FPSs with a few RPG elements.

Endless gameplay = Civ4 but that's not what you're looking for. Maybe X3 Reunion, but it seems a bit buggy still. That has aeons of sp gametime tho.

If you're into RPGs, I suggest the Xenosaga series. I'm loving the first one right now. If you're not big on plot based games, then you'll probably want to stay far away from Xenosaga. Cut-scenes can last up to an hour. And I'm loving it ^__^.

Rome: Total War.

Ive been playing one campaign for like 4 months now. About to win, then I will start another

If you're that bored with all games your play, you're probably jaded with gaming, try doing some other activity. It happened to me and I just switched solely to art for a while.

I was thinking of diablo 2, that game is fun but the cd key on my case got worn off. I have the expansion and it's cd-key but not the original.

Any other ideas?

When I get bored of games I generally start playing CS again. hehe
It takes a long time for that to get old for me.
If you have played farcry then the controls on FEAR are very similar except it's a different setting and theme. Have you played Farcry?
I have not played Quake4 multi but my friend says it's good. I personally am waiting for UT2007.

Whatever you do with WoW, don't join the two-weeks-old Cho'gall PVP server (US).

Funny I made an alt on that server. I have a 60 rogue on detheroc and that server is empty. Yeah cho'gal blows but im a hardcore PVPer...kinda hard when theres no pvp really but I think its safe to say I am a very skilled rogue when it comes to pvp. I made a mage on cho'gal for a different feel of the game, only problem is I have learned most stuff there is to learn about the game except for very fine details of a few things. The game is simply boring. Right now I am downloading the neocron 2 trial and hope that will keep my attention for a while...at least until it ends and I download it again to make a new char haha.

Games, are becoming less and less appealing to me. But I have my peaks where I think games are the shizroll things in my life. Right now, I need something really exciting and new in gaming.

STALKER? Too long away!

I concur. Maybe you should give it a rest for a while. Too much of a good thing and all that.

City of Heroes? City of Villians?

Last time I checked Diablo II was "hack & slash" not RPG.

where are your parents? they allow you to play 12 hours a day everyday?

I am currently waiting to get into the air force so it's not every day I play that much. I go and talk to the recruiter sometimes.

you should probably spend some time learning about what you're getting yourself into

I have. I have read up on it plenty about every phase of it and what to expect and talked to many many people. I know what I am getting into.

Ever since I hit 30 in WoW I've been getting more easily bored. This is mostly due to the lack of PVP I'm experiencing. Contested territory is generally so flooded with 60's and nobody seems to play BG in my level range. So now my honor is pretty much at a standstill and in terms of levelling up I seem to be at a point where no matter which direction I go, I'm not experienced enough.

Time for Razorfen Kraul again...

WoW is for n00bs play a game that requires some skill like c-s 1.6

not just manuals filled with pep talks written by recruiting factories

read up on history, politics, and the culture of the theatres you're most likely to enter: iraq ..or by the time you graduate: syria, iran and eventually north korea

I somewhat follow politics, enough to know about major issues. I am not likely to enter any theatres as I will have a non combat job. Also being in the air force means there is no way as the air force doesn't have grunt units so I wouldn't be stationed with a combat unit either since there are none.

didnt we discuss non-combat military deaths in iraq last week? ...oh and pilots/aircrew have seen their fair share of casualties.

you should really read up on the history of the conflicts you're most likely to be involved in. If I were in your shoes (not that I'd ever consider enlisting) I'd want to know why the war is being fought in the first place before committing my life (and it is your life ..cuz I can just walk away from my job, you cant ...oh and you're more likely to be killed in your profession of coice than I am ...not too many computer mishap related deaths)

Look, Stern is on the move. Time to grab some popcorn, Mountain Dew, and a lawn chair.

Easy Street!

nah I'm done ...if he wants to become cannon fodder for the elite that's his perogative :)

Have any articles about how many air force comp network admins there are? The "non combat" job deaths are jobs like engineers and supplies, jobs that are needed on the front lines but you dont patrol all day and shoot stuff. I do not plan on flying, you need to go to college for that, I am doing college after the military.

If you can find any air force tech jobs that are always on the front lines, I will give you a gold star and a sucker(you get to choose flavor).

In any case...reading up on history is never a bad thing.

where's my gold star and sucker?

death is not the only consequence of being part of the military ...you also have to deal with the moral ambiguity of the role you'll play in what may turn out to be an unjust war ....may I remind you that CENTAF gave the order that led to the the destruction of Iraq's water treatment plants that killed hundreds of thousands of iraqis
