Bots in multiplayer??

With all the info we got on how the AI moves/reacts to the environment, would it be safe to assume that the MP portion of HL2 wil contain bots? I remember playing MP games in HL with user-created bots and it was hoot (kudos to the guy who had made the Powerpuff Girls!!)

they definately have bots...

i believe i read it in the valve email reply topic...

Well I don't know who saw the A.I. yet, but this is besides this matter. It'll most likely have bots.

I find it too bad when FPS games hit the shelves without bots. Since the original Unreal Tournament we know that bots can be introduced effectively in a game. Even if they aren't leaning on the bright side it is, in my opinion, an interesting option when you either don't have DSL or hate to play online.

Bots arent REALLY effective in any game available. They are still to stupid :)
But then again, I have seen bots acting better than real players... At least they dont talk ugly when killed ;)
It will surerly be in however... If we look back at everything asked, every information we have gotten its always "if it can be done, we've done it". Doubt bots and multiplayer AI will be different, cause its generally easy to do, they already have the AI :)

Hell yeah that would be nice.. I heard they're supporting SvenCoop which pretty much depends on the bots AI's. I hope they implement something like that for anyone who is bored and just feels like fragging a few bots without the lag, or whiners

I believe Gabe says that they haven't written the AI for the bots themself, but they've got the guy that did the CS1.6 bots to do it.

Well, bots area nice options. frankly of course I prefer human players though. Bots are not essential to me.

now that i'm getting cable bots are definitely a plus but not needed :)

bots can also be very useful for single-player mods like night of the living dead and such

Seeing as Valve hired the guy who wrote the Phineas-bot for Half-Life 1, I'd say bot support is almost a certainty. Not to mention multiplayer bots have become in FPS games.

Bots can also be useful when you want to practice MP maps offline. And hey, what do you know, it's my friend Mountain Man from the 3DR UBB. Nice to see you over here.
