Also, and this is only partly related, and based on massive generalisation; I find it hard to sympathise for the people affected by this disaster when they come out with crap like "THIS IS WORSE THAN 20 KATRINAS!" Are you that thick to not see the bigger picture? The gulf's industries are devastated. Fishing industries are wiped off the economic map. Tourism there is absolutely dead. This is worse than 100's Katrinas economics wise. More people will lose their homes due to the economic fallout from this disaster than Katrina. Stop looking at it as an 'oily animal' problem and look at the human/social cost, economic devastation and geographic destruction. BTW this is coming from someone who's aunt and cousins lost their home in New Orleans in Katrina. There is no reason to return there now, ever.

Not for most families who've already left, no. I doubt most of the resettled population now in Texas, Alabama, New Mexico and Arizona will return to Louisiana. I'm not saying the place is a wasteland with no chance ot make a life, but for those just rebuilding their livelihood in the region this crushes most hope.
 
Tons have already rebuilt and are rebuilding their lives there. I mean it's fine if others choose not to, and I guess you were speaking personally about your family members, whereas I thought you were talking about in general.

Too many failed "End of the world" theorys for me to even consider this might be possible.

If this mess causes the apocalypse, I wonder if Activision will charge us monthly for playing/living their super realistic real-time second to second apocalypse simulator.

This is a bit like false advertising.

It 'COULD' happen. Usually written in really small print in the bottom corner.

'You COULD get up to £30 if you buy your insurance from us'. Doesnt mean its going to happen. Sounds like they're over-reacting. If it happens it happens. You cant affect it.

Oil isnt the future anymore anyway. Anyone with even a miniscual amount of sense will see that water is what we should be investing in.

Oil is just a means to keep our cars going, electricity flowing and our tanks rolling. Without it, we would be fine really.

Take away water or miss-use it to the point of depletion like we are with oil, and we're all dead.

Simples.
