So who's played this shit? I just completed the first two worlds and I feel like my brain is in knots but it's so good. Really incredibly well thought out puzzles that will have you saying WHO THE **** THOUGHT OF THAT AND IS HE INFACT LUCIFER AND ALSO CAN I GET SOME OF WHAT HE IS SMOKING NOW PLEASE.

If you have an Xbox and you love puzzle games, or just unique and innovative games, or even just thinking, then get this game. It's worth the price point - even if it is technically quite short, the puzzles will keep you guessing for ages. Love it.

Edit - My bad, PC version also forthcoming "in a while." News and stuff here - http://braid-game.com/news/

Hm.. Could you describe it better? I'm currently not near my 360 so I cannot download the demo for it.

It's a 2D platformer with time control, ala Prince of Persia, except there's no limits on how far back or how fast you can travel. Then they throw in a bunch of twists, like objects which aren't effected by time travel, or a shadow of yourself who acts out any actions you just reversed. Basically, it be trippy shit.

Oh, and apparently there's a PC version coming soon also, so non-Xboxers do not fret!

Anyway, watch this (potential spoiler - contains a few easy solutions):

Awww don't post the video, it contains an awesome puzzle spoiler :( (*edit* Nvm, doesn't show how to do one of the harder ones :) )

This game is truly awesome and innovative. Anyone with a 360 get it now!

lol. I'm sorry but the Princess is in another castle. HMMM Where have I heard that before...

I laughed out loud at "I'm sorry but the princess is in another castle."

Don't tell me you didnt catch the Piranha Plant? Yes, the game has obvious throw-backs to Super Mario

I have been wanting this one for a while and now that it is out i don't have it yet! What's wrong with me?? Weekend purchase here I come!!! I LOVE the style.

This is horrible, it's a puzzle game, but I can't play it because I do not have an xbox360.
Why aren't they also releasing it for the PC like proper developers do, via steam maybe?

I beat the game yesterday the puzzles are fun, mind boggling and eventually become irritating. The game is very short especially for the 1200 points it amounts to, which is $15 bucks... the story surprisingly was cool esp the last level closure which really reveals the truth, so awesome what the did.

Wow, that looks really cool! Gonna give it a try ASAP (so many good XBLA games, so little points).

Fear not, I hear that it's coming to PC soon and that Steam is very likely the distribution platform of choice given the nature of the game.

Well now, that was amazing. The art direction was ****ing incredible as was the music. The gameplay was awesome as all hell as well.

I ****ing love this game.

Yeah, I've picked this up and am working my way through it. Usually with my jaw on the floor. Most of the puzzles are really evil, but you feel like a genius once you get them.

Apparently, Johnathan Blow (the developer) is quite unhappy with the XBLA restrictions, stating that they are making it hard for him to recoup the development costs. It's rumored that this will also be coming to PSN at some point.

I beat this game and it took me somewhere around 4-6 hours. For 15 dollars, that's a very short game for that kind of price.

Regardless, this is still one of the best games I have ever played.

For anybody who is unsure about playing this game, trust me, just play it. 15 dollars is well worth the experience. Not only is the gameplay mindbending and tons of fun, but the storyline is deep and actually touches the player emotionally, something few games can do. One reviewer called the game "emotionally devestating."

I still don't get this line of reasoning. Most non-RPGs nowadays run 8-10 hours. And cost $60. That's $6.00-7.50 per hour of playtime.

Braid runs 4-6 hours. It costs $15. That's $2.50-3.75 per hour of playtime. About half. And that's a great deal for a game that is polished, engrossing and just plain awesome from beginning to end.

Its a fantastic game, mindblowing puzzles that simply doesnt punish you for dying/missing a jump 2 ft from the end of a level that took you 3/4 an hour to figure out.

All puzzle games should be like this.

Finished it today... brilliant. I can't say I fully understood every nuance of the story when I finished, but reading some articles online has made me gasp at the varied interpretations of what I just did.

The entire game had this sense of... nostalgic dread. I was almost afraid of going into that dim attic.
