I wish I had the time to do that, but I've got to sleep, revision lectures tomorrow and exams soon ;(

I'd be a lot more interested in this election if I wasn't coming up to my finals.
*not that hard*

Where is this Englend that you speak of? And what about Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland?

Dear God...I'm leaving the country if those prunes get back in.

So that's where you've been hiding... Paul Daniels!

Lib Dem. The only front line party that doesn't blow small issues out of preportion and slander the opposition.

As for Charles Kennedy, I think he would make a good leader. He seems more old fashioned, and seems to be more bothered about putting his point across, rather than manipulating his body language while patronising/ignoring those around him *cough*BLAIR*cough*.

I desperately hope they do, because it means the Tories WON'T be in, and I'm under no illusions of a LibDem victory.

And what about Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland?
What about them? Pffft, if it's outside the M25, I don't care ;)

Just to clarify, I'm part Scottish and part Irish and harbour no ill will towards any corner of these fair, shining green isles.

Monster Raving Loony Party!

Well, my parents are voting conservative. I would personally vote lib dem though.

Labour and here are my reasons:

Conservatives: I just hate these people their slogan should be "Are you sinking like we're sinking?"

Lib Dems: These people are just lovely nice people unfortunately that makes them a bit unsuitable for govt. as you really have to be a bit mean and unfair to run a country well - But I will praise them for sticking to policies which they believe in and not going with which way public opinion is going.

Labour: Well we've had them for 8 years they have kept the economy on track and protected our interests they have also not given us a real reason to boot them out of power, unless the Iraq War is your main vice and for me it isn't this election is not on Iraq or even Mr Blair its on Labour and labours policies.

You guys better pray that diebold isn't contracted out to run polling centers.

I was serious... I'm leaving the country before the next term is up if Labour get back in.

Any of you who don't wish to see me go...;( Well, its too late to make a difference now :(

I voted labour.

:)

Conservatives are a joke. And I too am under no illusions. Lib dems wont get in this time. Sorry no vote. Therefore by process of ellimination (just shows what I think of the parties as a whole dont it...) I voted labour :)

They had posters up in our school... One said "VOTE CONSERVATIVE" and scralled underneith in marker pen was writen "ITS THE LAST THING THEY EXPECT!!!"

Bahahahah.... . Ahem!

I love it.

Looks like Labor are in again judging by the exit polls, but the majority is meant to be reduced significantly, by something like 100 seats leaving Labor with 66. It's only a rumor though.

move here. we'll welcome you. :hmph:

My cousins used to live near Dublin till they moved west.

I was just speaking to a friend, and she epitamises the attitude of many people. She actually did vote, but she voted off whos name she liked the most.

That is how important politics is to the majority of people now :|

labour are currently down 5, conservative are up 3, and lib dems are up 1
Not going as well as labour thought.

ummm go labour?

but i know how you feel farrow. if the NDP win in the British Columbian election coming up im moving.

Just kill my thread why dont you ;(

Yeah, because if you dont get them your local seat this time, they dont have a chance next time either. well done. :|

You can tell i voted Lib dem :)

Lol. who else has got the bbc "desktop score card" running?, it's actually quite entertaining.
I think next time i should invent some drinking game to do with it.
"oh crap, not another tory grab" *downs shot of vodka*

EDIT: the results are streaming in now, i think it's pretty well at the peak.
Labour -10 (pwned), conservative +5 (w00t!!!), lib dem +4 (kennedy, don't cry)

I've been watching the election coverage since 9pm. I've been drinking as well, so I'm pretty drunk. But I've decided to give it a rest for now.

EDIT: Boo. Lib Dem lost in my consituency and they were pretty damn close. 300 majority for Labour. It would have been better if the Tory canditate didn't send out leaflets saying "Don't vote for Lib Dem, they can't win" leaflets.. The git.

Farrow, dear boy, I'm pissed so forgive my bluntness - besides which, by the time you read this, it'll all be done and dusted and I shall be hungover, no doubt. Anyway. Labour REALLY AREN'T THAT BAD. One has to think about these things comparitively. They're far from perfect, but we have to choose the lesser evil in these cases, usually. Personally I don't think LAbour are the lesser evil, but they're a f*ck load better than the vile, vile Conservatives. Their losses in this election should tell them that they can't get away with whatever the hell they want.
And Tony won't be in for very long and Gordie shows potential of being much better.

Besides - don't leave! Where else could we get someone to claim heterosexuality until their suspect intoxcated posts!? :naughty:

That's such a repellantly desperate tactic. Ugh.

I am drunk also, and I got back maybe half an hour ago and I've been watching some of the coverage. Not to want to do down the democratic process by trivialising it through crass colloquialisms, but Labour are raping eeeeveryone.
Not literally of course. That'd be terrifying.

The lib dems have come really close to some pretty decent seats, they almost outed Letwin (cant stand that guy), i wish they had. I'm glad (at the moment) they have 7 more seats, labour has lost 24 and conservatives have gained 15... but thats only because of their poor electioneering tactics Feath demonstrated above.

YES!!!!!!!!!
My consituency kept conservative, we beat off the lib dem threat!

My constituency still hasn't called a result. They've had ages, they probably couldnt be bothered and decided to do it tomorrow, pfft gravesendians :p

haha, democracy works... Goodbye Kilroy Silk and Veritas!

LOL, did you see kilroys face??
I was so tempted to get a screenshot and have the classic OWNED on it.

I couldnt see his face, it was camoflauged against the bright orange curtain background :p

If you don't want the tories to get in, vote for labour if it's a Labour-Tories marginal, and vote for libdem if it's a Libdem-tories marginal, regardless of whether or not you prefer libdem or labour.

This is why we need proportional representation... to give the smaller parties a chance. ;(

And labour have it, well the election 2005 has chosen labour government.
And bush loving monkey eared twat has got another term.
Oh well, at least i have the right to bitch and bitch about labour for the next 4 years.
I dunno why i stayed up this late, it is 04:28, i'm a twat.

I must congratulate mr howard on his seats gained over labour, and laugh at tony for his loss of 35 seats PWNED!

Haha, do you think that matters? He's technically the most successful Labour PM ever now. His party has never done this before, and when Blair stands down, there's going to be real politicians following after him. The Conservatives got completely thrashed, despite their few gains. Who've they got now, exactly?

I agree with what Chris Eubank said:
We need someone with Bush's ear to rein him in.

Otherwise god knows how many Iraqs there would have been.

tell me if im wrong but it sounds like the lib dem's are a bit like Nader for the us, have some good ideas, but no point voting for him because hes not going to win.

The Lib Dems have increased their share though. If the current trend continues, they'll in Opposition next time.

Sort of but no. It's kind of been that way in the past: "A vote for the LibDems is a wasted vote" was the cry of, usually, the Tories.
D'you know what that means?
It means the Tories are weak. Any party that tries to convince you not to vote for one of its opposing parties (especially a national one gathering strength) is obviously running scared and needs all the help in can possibly get. Thus, scare people away from their inclinations. Pathetic tactics from a sh*tty campaign.
The LibDems have come a long way over the past decade and, with a bit of luck, they'll be the true opposition to the government in time for the next election instead of those sh*t-stirring, weasley little c*nts, the Tories.

Good ol' Charlie boy:

Im voted lib dem, my mother voted lib dem... and the constituency went conservative from a previous 8 years of labour, i guess thats a good thing. I cant think of anything Chris Pond has done for us, but i really didnt like the conservative candidate. :(

Jesus ****ing christ NI! What the **** have you done? Paisley walked all over Trimble!

So much for peace!
