It's summertime, and it's retardedly hot here in Louisville. I wouldn't be so bad if this wasn't a river valley. All that river water just makes everyday a hot and humid one. So, how do you stay cool during the summer?

The air conditioner. lawl.

And if that goes out, I just get some ice cold water.

i took the a/c out of my car, and i live in alabama. It was 98 degrees today.

Well firstly, I have the house a/c blasting about 71-73 degrees, then my own personal a/c unit set at 67 degrees. Lets just say my rooms is generally always cool. :)

A few nights ago the power went out and the heat was unbearable. I stayed up all night :( How do you plan on surviving Anthraxxx?

I did the same because I live in Alaska.
Do I regret it?
Short answer:
Yes.

68F in my house, cold as shit

GOD DAMN I LOVE CENTRAL AIR!

Had the same problem about a week ago, got it fixed though. It happens almost every year :(. The summer here is the worst. I can walk around fine in florida when it's 105 degrees but anything much higher than 90 here is miserable. And being inside with no air conditioner is that much worse.

Bleh. Well, i'm stipped down to my boxers, and i've got three fans blowing on me, and all the windows open.... hopefully it'll cool down a lot during the night. what sucks is that I'm gonna have to do this for the next week... and temps are expected to be in the 90's all week. It's currently 89 degrees in the house right now....

/oven roasted

edit: and now I've got a nasty case of swamp ass XP

My house is cold 24/7. I snuggle in my blanket on my bed at night as the pale moonlight illuminates my room and dream of former lovers...

Stay in a refrigerator and all will be fine.

What is a 24/7, anyway?

24/7 is a phrase that means twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. It basically means non-stop, no rest periods.

you could always harness the energy of the solar god sun and get solar panels

My AC is set to 80F. Although here in the basement it is probably 10 degrees cooler than that.

It has been a warm one for this time of year where I live. 90 degrees and humid. Almost like august weather. :x

Lots of AC units ftw :D

My room is always 73F. My basement is naturally 75F. My living room is set to 74F. Life is good :E

It's 10:15 at night and it is 91F. It reached 112F yesterday afternoon. Low humidity, but it is still plenty hot when you have to wear a shirt and tie to work. :x

Whats wrong with the unit? It might just need refilling with refrigerant. Not expensive if so.

haha, we had it checked out. The cooling coil was completely frozen over, also a new condenser unit, condenser pad, emergency disconnect, and a whole new lineset(piping)....

It was so busted, there's was this huge block of ice in the fan housing as well as in the condenser unit outside. The parts were so old, that just repairing them would be against the law, so they have to install new parts. This is going to cost us a hefty 3k USD. Cool thing is(hehe a pun), the new unit and parts will be more efficient, so we'll be saving a bit on the electric bill.
