Here's what we need

Texture Artists:

We will require one or two texture artists depending on how may maps are in the first release, must have good understanding of Photoshop or Paintshop Pro or similar graphics program and also have the ability to convert them into a bump map for use in Half Life 2, these could be two different people one doing textures and one doing the bump mapping but being able to do both is a bonus. A few examples of recent work will be required and we will be looking for Urban, Outdoor, Indoor textures and a hole host of different extra detail ones i.e. Signs, animated computer screens etc.
If you are looking to make textures/poly meshes for models then the above still apples.


Skinners:

Also we need somebody else on the skinning team maybe two, to do all the equipment, vehicles and probably, another weapons skinner because its getting too much for just one person to do.

how is the name of your domain an accurate description of your mod? give some information to the 90% of the community which has no freaking idea what "BROKENOATH" is
 
maybe if you guys werent so lazy and just clicked on the first link he gave us you would know a little bit more about the mod.Whats wrong with you people stop complaining about every little thing and just click one one freakin link.SJCOX i watch stargate sg-1 all the time and i cant wait to see your mod out when do you suppose it will be finished i know you dont have an date because valve hasent released the sdk but when do you "think" it will come out 2005,2006,2007?just wondering.also i love the renders you guys have some great talent.

So what's this Half Life 2 Mod about i here you ask.......

The answer to that is a simple one we are basing our mod on the hugely popular tv show Stargate SG1. If you don't know what Stargate SG-1 its a science fiction television series which follows the adventures of a top secret Air Force team, SG-1, as they travel through a portal called the "Stargate"



The Stargate is a round portal that can instantaneously transport an object from one point in space to another by generating an artificial wormhole. A wormhole is created between any two Stargates when one Stargate dials the address of another Stargate. A Stargate uses 6 of 38 symbols, representing star constellations, to locate another Stargate and then uses a final 7th symbol, unique to each Stargate, as its point of origin.

The following modes of play are planned for beta one release

Defend the attack from the replicators ( some of which will be Humans VS AI )
Prevent the naquada bomb for destroying the planet
Capture and Rescue missions ( some of which will be Humans VS AI
Deathmatch
Team death match
And many more.......




With over 30 different weapons all of which are featured in the Stargate SG1 tv series

More than 20 multiplayer levels some of which will be against ai co-op missions.

Over 10 different vehicles all of which are drivable or remote controlled

As a final note if its in the tv show its in this mod

whats the point? No really.. its a stargate mod, a mod without permission no doubt (maybe thats why they wanted to keep it quiet) I don't see MGM allowing it when they've got their own in the works.

well ask them not me maybe they did get permission and what are you talking about keeping it quit every mod site i goto has them on it. Also the mod looks great and i cant wait to play it.
also i bet there still in early dev wich means that there still in the planning phase of the game and theres tons of renders of object and other materials if you search the site.

should put em up on the site proper then instead of hiding them in forums.

And watch your attitude, you've become a bigger and bigger pain in the ass of late and its getting annoying.

Wow isent that wierd coming from you.Im just saying dont be an ass whenever someone post in the help wanted forum.and dont try to flex you mod abilities in front of me. i havent broken any rules and you have no right of accusing me of being an ass just because i have different view in certian areas.
 
Hiya all

I am the Head Project Leader for Stargate:Brokenoath, i would firstly just like to say thanks for the comments about our mod and we value all of them.

I do however find it a bit odd that a request for help in the correct form has people flaming about the post because there isnt enough information. All it takes is a click on the link to read up on the information, i do think the comments about the lack of info in the forum post are out of order.

In future we will use sites where the people give us back good comments on how to improve our site, instead of having a flame at us. What kind of site are you trying to run here? if i had a flame at everyone asking a question without enough info on our forums or irc channel etc i wouldnt have a MOD to run. It takes as much effort to kindly ask for more information that it does to bitch and flame.

Edit: I just noticed that The Dark Elf a "Halflife2.net Staff" has not only flamed about this post but has more or less said our mod is pointless. I expect you to make full apology regarding this comment as i see this as out of order.
 
I still say there's no point in having a site and not putting the work up, there's no point having it hidden away in forums.

Your making a mod using other people's interlectual property, without permission. Your ride about it, you think someone who simply stated the facts is flaming you and then say your gonna leave.

I also don't appreciate being blamed for posts OTHER people have made

Please padron my approach here, but just how far do you have your head up your arse? If you actually paid attention to his post, read it and actually thought for just one moment about what he's telling you. He is in no way flaming you; you just seem too ignorant to accept the fact that you are producing content from copyrighted material. Material that you are yet to show you have permission to use.
 
Ok, i hold my hands up my fault about the link i works for me since i am the admin, should be fixed now.

Regarding the leagal issues we are currently getting it sorted but we can not comment at this time. It should also be noted www.stargatetc.com has been out for 2 years and is porting over from half life to half life 2.

It might be a good idea if we maybe had a chat on irc when you are free?, as somebody so kindly put it "but just how far do you have your head up your arse? " :). which couldnt be further from the truth, i only replied to the forum post after consulting with almost the entire 30 team members. So if you would like to have a chat just msg Neo_ad on quakenet.

Ok, I will get straight to the point. unfortunately Brokenoath is no more. due to irreconcilable differences between the staff we have decided to go our separate ways. The majority of the longest serving staff members including myself, have either been excepted or have applied to join Stargate Rebellion because I feel I needed to work for a team who has respect for each other, listens to everyone's ideas and doesn't just shoot them down if they have a different opinions to their own. That is why the main Brokenoath page now redirects you to the Rebellion site.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who helped us out while we were all still together. (special thanks to Maxis for everything he did and Azzkiker from hl2files.com for always posting anything I sent him and hosting our trailer which has now reached over 19700 Downloads.) And a big thank you to all the fans who I hope to see over on the Rebellion forums soon.

One last thing I would like to say is that I wish everyone from Brokenoath the best of luck possible, I made some great friends while I was on the team and hope to say in touch with them all.

The unfortunate demise of Stargate: Brokenoath has also spawned Stargate: Source with 75% of the original staff still working hard to make a great Stargate mod. We invite you to visit us at www.stargatesource.com, where we are anticipating a large media release sometime in the coming weeks.
