Which one for you?

I will get the Silver from Steam.. no need for the Gold's spoils. I'd never wear a HL2 hat...

im undecided. as i wouldnt mind DoD and HL:S. but bronze is a deffo for everyone at least. its just whether i want to pay the extra for games i might not play

same, i'm going for the silver, but whats "Valve's back catalog currently available on Steam."?

HL, cs, dod, op4, blueshift, tfc etc

oh, ok... then maybe i even go for the bronze, since i have all of them, but i want hl:source, but i realize i aint gonne play it much

I'm caught between getting the Silver on Steam, or the standard retail box. I'll probably opt for the box and get HL:S and DOD:S via steam when they become available.

steam silver seems the best without being too much, besides, i don;t really need all that physical stuff, just all the gaming goodness source can offer

I've been thinking it over for a bit, I'm more inclined now to buy silver rather than gold (gold sure did look spectacular when I first read it) because I don't think I'll have much of a use for all the other shite that comes with the gold.

But it ultimately comes down to price. If the gold edition is a good price for what you are getting then I will buy that, but otherwise it's silver for me.

I need help deciding, The T Shirt sounds cool but I'm leaning towards Steam Gold edition cause it has more stuff and it'll get Valve more money.

But the deciding factor is this: Will I still get my extra stuff delivered to me if I don't live in the US (I'm in Canada)?

Gold, unless it costs too much.

Same here, I hope they ship the stuff overseas. Oh crap I just remembered I'd have to pay customs for that too. :|

CE, and the Gold edition features such as posters, sound track will be available on the Internet.

so basically I am getting the Gold edition features with the price of the CE.

Yeah, I'm concerned over shipping those posters and stuff overseas. if not, I'll just get the silver version.

Retail Collector's Edition.

But i also have the ATI voucher which i take gets me the Hl2 and CSS.

Im gonna go for the CE, but cant find anywhere to pre order it, out of the 3 game shops nearby, Gamestation told me they'll get it but come back when theres a release date, Game didnt have a clue what i was on about, and Gameon (Indie) said that they were getting the reserved ones in this week, somehow i find this hard to believe.

Silver.. but maybe gold, it all depends on the prices, im soo broke I might even need to buy the bronze..

Collectors edition. It seems like most of you have changed your mind concerning Steam.

Does anyone know if they'll be shipping the Gold Edition stuff outside the US?

Gold package more than likely, unless the posters are small. Then i'll go with Silver.

Retail Standard Edition,
But if i buy Retail Standard Edition can i still play DoD: Source, HL: Source and CS:Source?

No, check the front page.

I really want to buy retail (I like having real cd's in my hands as backups). Unfortunately I also want HL:Source, so it looks like I might be forced to buy the collectors edition, even though I'm not bothered about t-shirts/hats/other crap I'll never use.

They gave me 2 years of daily entertainment, so I'm going for gold ;)

That sucks!!! They said Hl and DoD where free !!! stupid money makers

How do the things in Gold Edition, like the hat, get to you? They mail them?

buy a CD burner.
it will be better value in the long run... :)

Gold, unless shipping to australia is NA/insanely expensive.
after the wait, anything less would be anticlimactic.

They've said right from the beginning that HL:Source was going to be available separately from HL2 for an extra price.

Undecided...it will be be one of the steam packages...which one depends on pricing. I wish they would include a T-shirt in the gold package as well...

The Silver edition is looking pretty good (4 games plus Valves back catalog!), but I might get the Gold depending on the price.

Depends on the price of the Silver and Gold.

If this version:

2. Collector's Edition:
-- Half-Life 2
-- Counter-Strike: Source
-- Half-Life 1: Source
-- Half-Life 2 T-shirt
-- Prima book sampler

Still costs $80 (sorry but that package doesn't look worth $80 to me especially with the "sampler" and not full book)

Than I can't imagine how much the Gold package will cost.

I am confused on but one topic. What is the 'Prima Book Sampler'?

Does anyone know?

No, you'll download them over the internet, but you'll need a good broadband connection to make sure the goodies don't get stuck along the way.

What are you thinking? Of course they'll mail that stuff to you. I would have thought that was obvious.
