Hi.

I just brought a new big lcd monitor & hooked it up to my pc & when viewing bright colors it looks like there is a small film of something on the screen, kinda like residue or grease covering the screen. But the screen is crystal clean & its at native sharp res.

Just wondering if the screen has a thin build up on them that have to be cleaned before use or after sitting around for a while? I have LCD cleaning products.

any help is needed. ty.

Don't use the KFC face wipes.

DON'T USE THE KFC FACE WIPES!

Regular baby wipes works wonders though.

it must be a gra[hics issue, because on XP it was good, but on vista it has the probl

its a dell.

It must be a graphics problem, coz with XP it doesn't happen. Only on vista.

Maybe the dual link cable or my graphics card?

Vegeta your avatar is very disturbing....
Back to the topic in hand: Make sure you don't wipe screen with regular clothes, mechanic's rag, sandpaper, or anything with lots of lint; they will scratch the protective layer of the screen. Instead, use cloth with no or little lint like those for eyeglasses.
I don't know about baby wipes, and I never tried them, but what works for me is, mist of water and eyeglass wiping cloth, wiping it as gentle as one can be and more.

Good Luck.

Works wonders, and the cloth is reallly soft. I wish it was bigger, so i could use it as a towel.

yep, ive got a very similar product, it cleans like a son of a bitch:cheese:

What exactly is you graphics adapter (name, make)? I can only guess it's some kind of aliasing cause by the wrong resolution or signal interference from the cable.

radeon X1950Pro,

I'm hoping its just my older system, as I'm soon getting a new High end PC for it with SLi etc.

It sounds like you just need to adjust some settings on the monitor itself. Maybe.

Fiddle with your gamma, brightness, and contrast settings for your video card/desktop. A combination of the three is probably to blame.

i just use a damp soft cloth.. have never needed anything more extensive then that.
