So I climbed some spires in British Columbia and wanted to make you all jealous. That is all.

Did somebody say Buggalo?

No? Awww...

Cool pictures!

Why didn't you bike up it? You know you can... you're Dan.

Those pictures are kind of cool. Would be better with a bit of a story, like why were you hiking there?

So jealous... I would love to do some climbing like that one day...

There really is no story. I had a week of vacation time and took a flight out for the sole purpose of visiting Bugaboo Provincial Park and climbing the awesome towers of granite there.

Good to see you still have both your arms!

The first image made me think of the opening sequence in 127 Hours.

Nice pictures though, looks like the sort of thing you'd see on a Desktop/Wallpapers website.

Nice pics.

Hey now that you've seen it first-hand the place must actually exist! ;)

Does "bugaboo" sound to anyone else like an old-fashioned racial slur?

I see what you mean actually. "This town's fillin' up with damned ollies, prings and bugaboos!" *SPIT*

I think a bugaboo is a kind of boogeyman or little demon. It's come to mean any little problem or fear that you have. The miners named the valley Bugaboo, but the spire was named such because of that gendarme (rock pinnacle) in the middle of the seventh photo. It took the original climbers several hours to pass over it. So they called it a bugaboo. And you can see that today it is still quite the traffic jam with one party just passing it, one party just below, and several other parties hanging out below that.

As for the photo quality. Thank god for RAW format and post processing. Otherwise they would just be bland. Most of the black and white photos were terribly washed out because of glare off of the snow and glaciers. I had to ditch the colour info to get anything usable out of them.

Straddle that edge like a bitch!

Almost all those pictures best describe me, with the exception of

You are one cool dude!

Also if you are looking for a diet and exercise plan. I can strongly recommend hiking and climbing all week on short rations. We guestimated our food and came up a little bit short on the last few days. My last two meals were rice and pasta thickened with mashed potatoes and flavoured with chicken boullion. Neither was half as much as I would have liked to have eaten. The trip up to the hut was about 3000 ft elevation gain over 3 or 4 miles with heavy packs. Most days after that were 8+ hours and had 1000 ft of elevation gain if not more. I can see my abs now. I'm probably set for exercise until after Thanksgiving (Canadian).
