Are there any improvement I can make to make it cheaper without losing cpu/gpu power? Or improving it?

Also, is the chipset on the motherboard going to effect my performance with a ATI video card since it's for an Intel processor?

i wouldnt trust the intel stock fan. instead try find a good value one (under $30) that has good reviews:

EDIT: damn you brick, this is the second time you got here before me. the artic cooling cooler has not got as good reviews as some of the cheaper akasas

If he does so he can overclock it , and it will therefore last longer (speed wise) before he has to upgrade again

Maybe, I doubt a Freezer 7 pro would limit an average overclocker. And if he doesn't want to invest in overclocking, it would still be a great buy for $13.

Anyone know how to check to see if my Vista has been authenticated?

Open control panel, click systems and maintenance, system.

It should show you your Windows edition, PC specs and at the bottom it should give you Windows Product ID, above it says 'windows is activated', when it's not registered it says otherwise.
