Ha! I read the American medias portrayal of this "assassination attempt" first, and was quite shocked. Then I went to bbc.co.uk/news and had a scope. Apparently an unarmed grendade was found by a security guard on the ground 30metres away from bush... it was removed...

Though yes, I am amazed this is the first hint at an assassination attempt on ole' Bush.

I don't think it is either. Nor am I going to have some sort of solemn vigil. This "assassination attempt" was practically a non-event. Some people might find that funny. Some might not.

However, it is no excuse to grandstand with a sincere insult to what I and over half the people here believe in.
It's no better than someone were to use this opportunity to say "all republicans deserve to die".
Objectively, the jokes here are hardly the same as the people joyfully celebrating the actual murder of a man in the (now closed) "forsake the troops" thread or happily listing clever ways to torture POWs in other threads.
