Bushs Bumbling

Anyone catch Bush's little speech today, absolutely pathetic. He is such a disgustingly weak public speaker. I actually laughed as he stuttered and paused his way through something he doubtlessly rehearsed 50 times. When it came to questions, it just went downhill. How can someone this incompetent at public speaking be the president. Oh because half of america is rich ignorant or stupid.

He fumbled with all sorts of issues, rendition, world bank appointmen, social security, and a few others.

Any thoughts?

lol, so he did have a shred of dignity on the podium, now he is just embarrasing. I would not like to see a nervous 10 year old at show and tell stutter and bumble like he did today. Its pathetic, a grown man (in his position no less) should be able to give a competent speech withoout using the word "uh" and without pausing every ten seconds, and without saying absolute nonsense. But hey, im not a conservative with a hard on for him, so i can actually see his downfalls.

Its more humiliating for me watching you post than watching bush speak.

In what way are his posts humiliating for you? Is he your representative on these forums?

His posts show about the quality of most posts around here, and he makes a lot of them. I think he would make a great representitive.

All warned for gross off topic. -you're basically attacking/discussing another user rather than the content of his post.

Get on topic.

Uhhhh....
Why dont you post something relevant rather than a hate filled tirade. I really dont see how you didnt get a warning.

arn't there like a million threads exactly the same as this?

http://www.lakeweb1.com/mrp/literature/drydrunk.htm

OBVIOUS TRAITS Persons experiencing a full-blown DRY DRUNK are, for that period, removed from the world of sobriety; they fail, for whatever reason, to accept the necessary conditions for sober living. Their mental and emotional homes are chaotic, their approach to everyday living is unrealistic, and their behavior, both verbal and physical, is unacceptable.

Then if its so damn simple, i'm sure you'll have no trouble arguing against it. Simply saying "ohh.. you're rambling" is pointless.

exactly, and I'm getting a little short on patience

KILL THEM! KILL THEM ALLL!!!!!

erm... back on topic..... yeah, you people should try being president and see what it's like

Man, should I post a picture of my non- bulging pants to argue this one?

Oh because half of america is rich ignorant or stupid.
Maybe I should post my SAT scores to argue that one.

And to Kmack: you dont elect somebody based on how well they speak. There are things called 'stances', 'policies', 'ideas', so on and so forth.

He was making a thread about how a politician spoke in public, not your genitals; SO DON'T CONTINUE SOMETHING THATS OBVIOUSLY OFF TOPIC.

How hard is it to be the mature one in a discussion??

Ya' know, people who actually believe in what they are talking about usually don't have a problem saying what they mean. And no, I don't vote based on public speaking skills, but ideas, policies, and character.

Bliink I've got to admit, I'm on their side on this one... It's a bit hard to respond to something so blatently vitriolic and incendiary like the original post, especially with the author's track record in mind.

It's not what he said, it's how he said it. Should've been locked from the getgo in my opinion :|

i'm not american but when i saw him last night on the news i was embarassed particurly in relation to the robert mccartney sisters

Agree with you to up to a point, bud, but she's just doing her job

Perhaps his speaking is impared by this "pre-senile" thing, but what about his decision? Anyone know if it has any effect on longer term thinking or reading?

I think if you've got dementia, you forget a lot of things and you get paranoid that people want to hurt you.

You also wear odd socks.

Yes, but she admonished them for personal attacks while saying nothing to the author of the thread, who was obviously baiting and trolling.

being a former bartender I've often seen the dry-drunk syndome ..give bush a few drinks and I guarentee his speech will improve momentarily. Had this one customer who would have the shakes pretty bad in the afternoon before he started his daily bingefest ...after his second beer he was fine, his shaking disappeared

bush is an alcoholic ...either currently or in the past

well there you go ..it's a sign of years of abuse ..especially as he gets older

As a teen (and college) he did some crazy shit I guess. I dont approve of that kind of lifestyle, but I'm glad he can admit it.

I really dont see how you didnt get a warning.

Seinfeld, let me remind you what gets you warnings and what does'nt get you warnings on the forum.

What does'nt get you warnings: OMFG HATE MONGERING CONSERVATIVE REDNECK PIG ****ING ASSHOLE BUSH IS TEH SUX YYEEAAA!

What does get you warnings AND BANS!: Sometimes, I dont understand your leftist agenda, but I'll try.

No kerberos, what gets you warnings are posts like the one you posted here. If you have a problem with the way the moderators run the site THEY OWN, you don't have to post here, you can leave.

Anything Bush did with drugs and so on is just another day at college for most people. Hell I didn't do any of it because i was working my ass off in part-time (full time?) jobs to pay for school. But the big party crowd that had their parents pay for them were all doing drugs, and lots of them. And I suspect still are.

I agree, I don't think anyone should judge him on that unless he goes out and tries to lock up drug users for longer amounts of time:

As governor, Bush favored tougher laws for drug offendors, including signing legislation that allows judicial discretion to sentence first-time offendors possessing less than one gram of cocaine to a maximum of 180 days in jail. (Previously, first-time offendors received automatic probation.) Bush is still trailed by unsubstantiated allegations of cocaine use.

Hypocritical, yes.

Hypocritical, yes.

Maybe he decided that if someone locked him up for doing drugs when he was 18, he might have gotten his life back on track sooner?

I don't know if that is his reasoning, but I have heard other addicts say things like "I wish they had put me away when I was younger, maybe I would have straightened out."

he was 27 when he was busted for cocaine possession not 18

he was 27 when he was busted for cocaine possession not 18

And I'm sure he was let off countless times before that, which was my point.

If he would have believed that he would have been an idiot; prison makes you worse, not better. Remember, if he wasn't a little rich kid and that felony stayed on his record he wouldn't be able to get a job above a burger flipper.

Well, to a certain extent that may be true. Prison does seem to straighten some people out, however I do think the system is flawed. I think a system where manditory rehab was imposed with no criminal record after sucessful completion would probably be the most beneficial. I think prison should be a last resort option.
