I came across a nice guide for those that - like me - know how to build a PC, but don't know what motherboards, RAM, CPU, and etc., to get.

It shows the best bang for the buck in every category.

Most people already are going to have the basics, so you might spend much less and just use your current monitor, mouse, keyboard, hard drives, etc.

The only things I need for a massive upgrade are a new motherboard, CPU, and more/faster RAM.

Nice Article. I thought I had a God Box but, damn you Virustype2; I have to go shopping again. :(

Lol I was thinking "hmm lets see what the god box has...HOLY SMOKES! I'M NOT PAYING $900+ FOR A CPU!" I will deffinitaly check into the "hot rod" one though. Probably examine the motherboard a little bit and I still want that quad. Very good site, thanks for posting this Virus! *Clear as mud now lol.

Mine is a little over the Hot Rod :E

Yea the god box is ridiculous, and the hot rod is a bit wimpy for a June 2007 recommendation.

So the article doesn't help me. ... wouldn't matter though since I'm probably going to pick up a dual or quad core next month - aren't the Intel chips going to price drop in June/July?

I'll wait till then as I just bought a new HD TV and have damaged my savings buffer slightly, and have to be good this week when it comes to impulse shopping.

The q6600 will be $266 july 22nd.

Man this must've been about the tenth time I've said that here.
