Buying a scanner off of ebay.

Im curious has anyone ever bought a scanner or any type of printer/scanner combo off of ebay.. and if you did, did it work to your potential that you wanted it to work/

It might be tedious, but you should be able to search his other auctions to see if he's sold other scanners/printers. Try and find the buyer's feedback for those auctions, and maybe even contact the buyer and ask about the how good the shipping and packing was.

Scanners are pretty durable these days, unless they're Mustek. Should be fine.

I bought an HP scanner couple years ago, I didnt use it for a while then when I tried to use it the scanning light thing wouldn't move at all and I'll have to get it repaired I odnt know how much its going to cost me so Im just resotiong to buying a better one ;o

Canon make very good stuff, i've got a load of canon stuff and it's all been 100% reliable - excellent build quality etc.

Can't go wrong.
