Buying Multi-platform Games: PC vs Console

You can use a controller on a PC so why get a console for Third person just because of a controller.
Presumably because there are about four times more Third Person games on the consoles than the PC, and usually the more significant ones at that.

The best are mulitiplatform which usually means a PC version as well.

I managed to survive very well with my P4 and X740XL for a very long time. Granted towards last year i couldn't max out games, but it could still do as well as the current gen consoles. Even now my PC isn't the greatest but it can still max out games and will last me for a quire a few years. If your standards are so high why go console? Then your stuck with Meduim/low settings for the whole generation.
It's a way of tricking myself into believing I have the best. What I can't see won't bother me. I dunno, I guess I'm screwy.

BTW, my current system is:

2 7600GT 256MB video cards running in SLI
Windows XP
2 gigs RAM
AMD 3800+ 2.4 GHz
Audigy4 SoundBlaster (which is fine)
K9N Platinum series MSI MB with an nForce 500 chipset

TBH, all I really need is a video card and CPU upgrade, but like I said in a previous thread, I simply just didn't feel like waiting around until I could afford it. :P

Plus the deal I got for the 360 I now own was too sweet to pass up.

That's such an exaggeration it's absolute bullshit. I think it's funny you only have a single core processor (Pentium4 =2003ish) and wonder why your computer can't play brand new games in highest settings. (2009's latest software technology). What graphics card you are using, I'll bet it's older than Moses.
I never wondered why I can't play newer games, I KNOW why. :P

I wasn't complaining, it is what it is.

Also, for a single core, AMDs actually were better than Intel processors at the time. (I built this system in 06)

Man, now I KNOW my rig is "old".

I have a Pentium 4 with 2 GB RAM, and one nVIDIA 7800 GTX.

Good thing the new laptop arrives Thursday, cant wait :D

I'd still take that GTX for free if you don't want it.

Technically its the family computer. I'm purchasing a laptop for uni.

Sorry mate :p

A couple of days ago I was gifted a hand-me-down P4 2.5 with a geforce FX 5200 (PCI) and it's better than my old computer. ;(

So now I can offload some work to it and do some inconvenient multitasking. :/

I'm going to build a new system pretty soon. I'd like to wait until Win7 comes out and build something really ****ing fast.

LOL, why were you bashing my hooptie POS PC? Shit virus, talking about MY PC being old, if yours was a car, It would be a Stanley Steamer.

I wasn't bashing your computer, my point was that the reason you can't play new games properly was because you had an old computer.

This game is basically Hulk: Ultimate Destruction but with a shitload of more gore and a more agile Hulk. Yes, it was made by the same devs.
Add a few elements from The Thing, and you have Prototype. Although you can wreck a lot of o havoc, the combat feels rather lackluster and tends to get repetitive. Fighting Hunters feels like a ****ing chore. Barrages of rockets are just as annoying as they were in Ultimate Destruction.
Base infiltration gets boring very quickly. They all have the same layout. I expected the city to be more lively and offer a bit more variety in its environment.
A destructible environment wouldn't have hurt.
GTA 4 has practically the same city but it's much more interesting than the one in this game. Visuals could have been a bit better. I have the game running at its highest settings at a 1440x900 resolution but textures tend to look washed out on close ups and dialogs. Storyline is quite "intriguing" but the dialog between Mercer and others is not very engaging. All in all, it's a lot of fun carnage but would have been even better if they had included a multiplayer component. I Am sure that we will get one in the sequel. Ill' give an 8 out of 10 regardless some of its kinks.
