Does anyone buy used games regularly? Like from EB Games or Gamestop?
I don't know why I'm so hesitant in buying them, I guess I just don't like how they say that you may or maynot get the Box and Manual when ordered. I'd actually like to have the box and manual, just a little thing of mine, basically for display along with all my other titles downstairs on the shelves.

Been thinking about ordering some stuff online, since I'm not trying to buy the game full price. Need to buy some Wii and Xbox360 games :x

Haven't bought a used game in ages after my bad experiences with EBGames...

$10 for Driver 1... unable to open the case to see if the disc had any scratches.
I go home, pull out the disc, it has a unfixable big scratch all the way around the disc.

That's just one of many bad things about buying used games.
Even worse is the no return policy. :|

I have bought a bunch of used games and have had no problems with scratches or discs not working. Also, if there is a huge scratch that makes the game unplayable, that is their fault and they will give go an exchange at the very least.

I tried returning it and they refused to give me money back.
They ****ing accused me of scratching it myself.

The ebgames over here is run by fat ****ing pompous pricks. :|

Yikes! If that's the case, I would seriously complain to the highest level person they have there. Normally, they open the case and make sure the disc is not scratched or they keep it in a sleeve in a drawer until someone buys it, at which point they inspect it while transferring it to the case. That's incredibly horrible news about your situation though. I would probably never go there again!!!

I buy used games. I even have a mebership card. 90% of the time you WILL get the box and manual. I even got the guy's orgiginal receipt once. (LOL BONUS). :D

lol sounds good, I think I just might get some used games. Even with online orderes I could get both manual and box?

I bought my copy of Operation Flashpoint there, didn't come with a box/manual/or cd key. :|

This all happened about 2 1/2 years ago, haven't been there since.

I buy my games mainly from Walmart and Best Buy now... and occasionally from Gamestop... but they're turning console exclusive now.

Yeah, the used PC game market offline has all but dried up. ;(

Agreed. Ive yet to have any problem with any 2nd hand game. just so long as you say 'can i see the disc and manual before i buy it and walk out?'. 9/10 they will let you. any big scratches or lots of little ones = dont buy it. manuals arent necessary, but i will refuse to buy a game without the box. where do i put the cd if it doesnt have the box? in my music collection? come on!

[Edit]if you buy 2nd hand off the net you're just asking for something to be missing or a cd key to not work etc.

I buy used games. Cheaper games than usual FTW.

I've not had any problems with it...YET.

Ahhh, buying old games, that brings back those Playstation 1 memories.

All the time. Never anything wrong with, they jus aren't wrapped in the film stuff.

But then, I never buy games for more then 30 quid anymore.

Get 'em, i'm a used fanatic because i'm frugal as hell when it comes to gaming. I had 0 problems with all the games until i bought a ps2 and my first games for that, it's the first time i had to return a game (FFX + God Of War (which worked but froze anytime you tried to save) But I just went back the next day and returned them, got a diff. copy of GoW and they had no more FFX so I got X-Men Legends + Dragon Quest VIII instead.

17/20 of my gcube games = used
3/5 of my DS games = used
3/6 of my GBA games = used
17/18 of my PS2 games = used
1/50 of my PC games =used

used games save allot of money, buy them if you have a problem you can bring them back, I did have one copy that didnt work and braught it back for a exchange no problem.
