Calculate cache status?

What is the use of Calculate cache status...?
It simply hangs my computer while it does nothing.
Anybody can post a screenshot of the next screen after the button?:bounce:

Actually they labeled the button wrong. It's actually supposed to be a "Crash my computer" button, or "practice using CTRL+ALT+DELETE" button.

THe last version of steam was USEABLE. This is a pile of STEAMing crap.

Actually, if you just let it keep working, it will eventually work just fine. Mine looked liek it was "frozen" for about 10 minutes, but it was calculating the cache, it tells you how much space it takes up on the disk, and how much of it you have aquired through download. It may not be responding, but it is working, i suggest you just leave it.

It takes a few seconds for it to calculate the status of the cache for me, give it a bit of time and you may find it didn't hand, it was just working.

It's also wise to only calculate the size of the cache if you've completely downloaded the game.

that seems to apply to pretty much all of steam.

It works if the patching is complete, if it's not done, it crashes the computer.. for me atleast.
