The recent reaction to the upcoming Call of Duty demo has caught us here at Activision by surprise. We're appreciative and excited about the high level of enthusiasm the game has received throughout the gaming community. Due to the tremendous demand for the demo – we are answering the call by not only making the demo freely available to all gamers at the same time, but early – This Friday Night - just in time for the long weekend.

Gamespy has been a great partner - working with us so that we can make our fans happy and give them a taste of a game they're clearly excited about. The demo will be available across the net on fan and gaming coverage sites, including GameSpy's FilePlanet.

We think you'll love Call of Duty, and we can't wait for you to play the demo. Look for it Friday night!

So does this mean that us poor folks dont have to pay fileshack for the use of there dowloading services. (very sucky ones at that)

Now if only my PC wasn't blocked from my college network because of suspected viral infestation, I would be able to download and play it. But NO! I'm stuck with this shit laptop.

This is great, give me something to do while i wait for half life 2. Shame this is my sisters pc, she has a ge force 4...the pc i use is a geforce 2:'( It totally sucks, cause my sister only uses it for internet, not gaming.
But still, I'm gonna download the game to my sisters and play it on hers, have to do the same with halfllife 2 aswell.
Tonight is going to be sweet!:D
 
he he, I could do, but i dont think the pc could take ge-force 4. Plus the one i use is the 'family one', so im not sure my dad would let me. And my sister wouldnt let me change it around. Plus this way might be able to get my own pc in my room:D

We are not cheap...some of us are poor and cant afford to subsribe to millions of different companys.
And its not actually that amusing, because this whole issue isnt about paying a price, its the effect that it could of had on the gaming community. If activision had gotten away with this, then most people wouldnt play the demos, thus not buying computer games. Then companys wont make games, and the gaming industry will fall.
And you say its only acoupld of bucks....its $2 now, but in the future, it could rise? Will you still then pay high amounts of money just to download less then a quarter of a game, thats not optimilised, to only go and spend something like $50 on the main game? I certainly wouldnt, and I doubt others would either.
The gaming community will ony survive aslong as the gaming community and the game makers keep in good relationship. If one falls out with the other, then we can kiss games goodbye, because once the consumer has lost faith, its hard to get them back.
So please stop being so nieve thinking that its all about money, because we can easily get the demo off of kazza or something, so its not about the money. Its about the long term effect it will have on a medium thats already in bad shape. (Some might not agree with gaming being in a bad shape, but it is, with all the crtisiscm we gamers get and such, gaming is in a abd way.)

thats where google and its database of thousands of timezone sites comes in, durr. this isn't difficult, it's like 2nd grade math.

And I never worry when something's exclusive. It seems to always get to the public eventually.
 
No, however long it is wherever they are, it wont release at different times.
 
EST is eastern US as in here in Georgia : D as well as new york and all them
 
See what happens when you release a demo for your game? Excitement , if only HL2 would do this :-/
 
Frankly, Im not even excited for this game, just along for the ride.
