Something to take our minds off the 'beta' business.

I thought of this poll while thinking of one of my favorite musicals: "Moulin Rouge".

So, are YOU a Child of the Revolution?

Yea precisely, its kind of contradictory. You can't have the below without the above in this large a population. Just speaking with genetic variation its impossible to create a perfect utopian society without some form of enforcement ya know. So you need society as well as finances to begin with. Uh maybe I'll vote for the second one if it also ends stupid and/or deluded people such as moral vegetarians?

Uhh everyday on my way to work the bus passes an elevated section of freeway under which I see people my age (19-25) basically sleeping on the street. They are free, they are in love, they live under a freeway.

Anyway, "financial security and social status" are very hard to obtain so you should put the maximum amount of effort into that. Especially if you're a guy - it's infinitelly more important then if you're a girl. Love, happiness, beauty - all of that will come eventually - just watch.

interesting fact about the word utopia: it means no place in greek. or was it latin? one of those.

I cast a spell! Aaaaaah... a spell of repell sadness! Go truth and love and all that nonsense :)

Can you really have those two at the same time? Can some equilibrium be achieved?

This can also be related to "The Matrix", where Neo chose Truth and Freedom (finding Beauty and Love later) while Cypher chose being an actor, rich and famous. Who made the most moral decision? Who made the most logical decision for us as humans?

Discuss.

Why not? Does achieving a high social standing or being financially successful neccitate forgoing Truth, Beauty, Freedom and Love?

If so, how are you defining those things?

Financial freedom...i could live with that.

A big bag of money solves so many problems.

Arguing over the state of the house? Hire a cleaner...

Depressed because of the weather? Buy a house in Spain...

Dont like someone? Hire a contract killer to disspose of them...Ok, perhaps not but you get the idea.

Be a "child of the revolution" if you like. Il stick with my big house and freedom to do what i like (naturally, within the laws)
