Camera Tasers?

Has anyone heard about this? Apparently, people have been turining disposable cameras into a weak form of taser! It's caused quite a fuss where I live (a very small town, so any sort of threat to "the children's safety" is seen as the apocalypse).

I wasn't condoning it. Although it isn't lethal, it is a ridiculously ****headed thing to do. From what I've heard it's mostly ratty middle schoolers doing it.

Well obviously teenagers would be like "that's super cool". I know I would have thought it's awesome ten years ago.
They won't think it's fun when they send their best friend to the hospital though. It's the same problem with fireworks. It's all fun till you blow your hand off.

From what I saw in a video, making a 'taser' from one camera isn't dangerous. The guy 'tases' his friend in the neck, when he's unsuspecting and they both just laugh about it, so I guess it's just a few times more powerful than an electric lighter 'taser'.

Not necessarily, a good placed punch with enough force can and will collapse the heart and/or lungs. A punch can even send an irregular heartbeat to the heart, leading to it stopping. A few years ago in my area in Ocean City, two friends were walking down the boardwalk when one of them began getting hiccups. So, as a joke he told his friend to punch him in the chest, in which he did. Minutes later he collapsed and died on scene.

There's a lot of stories like this, especially people who have heart problems.

As for these tasers, I don't have any home made ones, but I do have those fake-item "shockers" from Spencers. I have both a shocking lighter and cellphone. Not a good thing to do to someone who has heart problems. :upstare:

Actually a kid in my school was rushed to the hospital after a fight where the other kid punched his heart at the perfect moment to make it completely stop.

So improbable, yes. Possible, definitely.
