What is Hotkeysvc.exe and what the heck it's doing trying to connect to the net?

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like spyware.

For all who have just installed a so called msn messenger update, IT IS NOT AN OFFICAL update, i strongly suggest that you uninstall msn and reinstall it. NEVER download anything from a link, ALWAYS go to the software's website and see if they have announced an update!

what you installed is most likely an entery for a hacker,(Specific911 Hijack) you will find that your computer will try to connect to 63.246.131.130 which is in Turkey, ISTANBUL

The Fix for it: update your virus scanner and run a full system scan, and then download hijack this and remove anything that shouldn't be there, (it will show up in this as hkcu.. un [cpqhotkeys] hotkeyssvc.exe .....and......hkcu.. unservices: [cpqhotkeys] hotkeysvc.exe delete them both and reboot) and you should also delete your cookies and internet cache, right click on IE => Properties => Delete Cookies + Delete Files

You can download the real msn from: http://messenger.msn.com/beta/download/downloadx.aspx?mkt=en-gb
