How the hell do some of you manage to 'commit' yourself to this forum?

I mean... I've always liked to commit myself to forums, games, the likes; but I just can't seem to do it. I can manage to contribute to a forum solidly for a month max I'd say, even though I'd like to stay contributing ... forever really.

Is it just the mind, or how obsessed you are? Or is there some other trick to it...

You get to know the people on this forum, and it keeps you hooked. There are some really great people around here.

i just get bored at work and i literally have nowhere else to go.

somebody please help me.

I'm on the computer a lot and this is a way of passing time.

I also like yelling at people...

Heh. I've been on this website for far too many hours.

For me, 10 hours of my week is at a job that involves no real work at all, so I spend my time here among other forums.

Also, I don't play video games anymore. I don't like the commitment World of Warcraft had. The only way to be among the best is to have a commitment to PvP or raiding, and I didn't want either. I hated not wanting to do anything in real life because "I need to raid tonight" or "My group is waiting for me to log on so we can PvP."

It's not like I'm glued here, I just generally have nothing else better to do. Unlike WoW though, I can click the X button whenever I want to do school work, go to work, or do something with my family or friends and the posts will be waiting for me whenever I find time to log on again.

This isn't even the only forum I visit, as I alluded to earlier. But I don't view all of the threads here by a long shot, I mainly stick to Off-Topic and General Games.

Well said matey

I enjoy most of the threads, the posters and the information provided. A good incentive for anyone to post regularly I feel (even if it is spam or petty insults *looks at politics forum* :p)

Forums, to me, provide endless recommendations to music, films, games, books, etc. I've purchased/downloaded at least five from those categories because of a solid recommendation from people on this forum. And I looooove music, films, games and books.

Good thing I'm not committed to this damn place...
...
****.

You're commited to our relationship though, therefore YOU MUST STAY OR ELSE.

I come here because I hate everyone here, and I like to show that hate by being here.

I used to be pretty anti-willie but you've grown on me.

Your antics are generally amusing.

Despite being in a band, going to university, having a job and a girlfriend.. I still find the time peruse these forums :)

I find it quite the entertaining time-waster. Plus it's my santuary away from reality..

Bahaha, nobody can leave this website, it`s a curse, a drug, a way of life.

Yeah, I`m hooked.

I have been gor some time and havent comited anything serious

weee!

The Lounge ftw

A few weeks ago I remembered about HL2: Episode 2 and thought "Hey wasn't that supposed to be released in...March?"

I checked and cried, then came back to the Lounge.

I have a couple of hours each day that I have no good way to spend, so go forums go!

No, you may not ask a question. If you do, I will end you!

Damn, too late.

I like most of the people on here, and it's always fun reading the "OMG WTF IS WITH MY AI?" threads in support, but I barely post stuff so I'm more of a lurker.

If you're a lurker, what does that make me? :E

Ppl talk about interesting things, interesting opinions, you can come to argue, chill, discuss, or just whatever.

I am too lazy to retrieve my favorites from my old PC so I only have two that I typed in, and this is one of them. :(

Plus I am too lazy to even visit my other forums. :/

It's the people here. If you guys all sucked I would have stopped going here. It's how I stopped going to Myspace, Facebook, TeamXbox, IGN, Genmay, Echoingthesound, SputnikMusic, Gamespot, and Steampowered, yet I've stuck here ever since I joined four years ago :D

I come here now to see whats in the Games forum, cringe at whats in the Politics forum and see what shit is being posted in Off topic, other than that, I rarely check the Half-life 2 forums any more.

it is a half-life 2 forum. i repeat a "half-life 2" forum. It is impossible not to commit. failure to commit is not an option

A little off topic.

Anybody else notice that this is one of the ONLY sane forums on the entire internet?

I've run across thousands of boards, and a good majority of them are just filled with jackarsing idiots.

I used to frequent a marijuana board, but I couldn't take the bad grammar, and people who described their highs as "so high" and "really ****ed up", that I left. Holy shit, THAT was a hellhole. Half the people there had been arrested at least twice D:

I used to frequent a GTA San Andreas board, but everybody there thought that Tupac was the greatest thing to happen to the world. Even worse, was that half of them seemed to really believe that the "Grove Families" were a real life gang, and would make cheap 2 member forums with names such as "Balla Killas: OGF fo Lyfe". Hell, people would say shit like "Shut up ya jus a fukin balla aight" as if it were a valid insult...

So I left that board.

I lurked on a few more San Andreas boards for a while, and they were no better.

Most large scale gaming forums are full of one posters and idiots who don't even know how to SPELL grammar.

I frequented the GameFaqs boards for a few months, till I realized how impossible it was to get anything done with all the idiots floating around the shithole.

They'd do things like mix up 6's with 9's, and forget to include words in their posts.

****, I shit you not, I ran across a post that read, VERBATIM NOW,

MUFER FUGGIN WIN!

i'm not committed

i just show up every few days or so, make some retardly stupid comments, everyone gets caught up in a wind of WTF and i drop back into the shadows until the next time i'm drunk/bored/amusing myself or all 3

thats what forums are all about to me...catching people off guard and stabbing them in the heart 3 times and burning a village down

I wonder why
