Can I install HL2 on different machines???

It's finally on sale right now so I'm thinking about picking up a copy.
However, I plan on getting a new computer system in a few months. So right
now I'll play the game on my current system. What I want to know is if I
can re-install the game on my new system when I get it. I heard that
Valve/Vivendi had some type of copyright protection on the game where you
couldn't play or install the same version of the game on different
computers....similar to Microsoft Windows I guess.

I assume you have the cd retail edition.

When you get your new PC, just install Half life 2 again, then load up your account on steam and that should be it. You can install on more than one PC this isnt Apple we are talking about.

You cannot log-in to both STEAM accounts on different machines though.

Actually, you don't even have to install it on the second computer. Just install Steam, log in and start preloading while you play.
