stupid question i know , but i am buying a laptop and if i can get a mac and play with windows users i am gonna get a mac if i cant i am going windows

Steam can't even go on a mac. Have you not read the system requirements for Steam?

You'll have to run HL2 through Wine, which will really hurt your game experience.

If you get a modern Mac laptop, you can partition the drive and install Windows on part of it while keeping OS X on the rest. Windows on a Mac works exactly as it does on a PC (well, maybe fewer crashes, at least in my experience), so yes, you'll be able to play multiplayer with other PC users.

kk thanks thats all i wanted to know , and no i never read system req's =)

Contrary to popular belief the hardware in a Mac is exactly the same as that found in a Dell or any other brand of PC. Apple are merely a Box Seller, albeit one with their own OS and a liking for minimalist style. There is no magic formula making a bootcamped Mac any better or worse in terms of stability than any other PC when it comes to the running of XP or Vista. Apple do not make their own hardware parts, they ship them in from third parties just like everyone else. :dozey:

Ok any game that both mac and pc can use, if online, you can play together. Take example Halo. My clan leader owns a mac, and I own a pc. We both play together.

Does the wolf lay down with the sheep?

Does the world live in Peace?

Does Stern lose arguements?
No to the first, no to the second, and yes to the third but only if I'm involved.
