Can my comp. handle HL2?

i looked at the minimum specs and they are way lower than my comp's specs. but the reccomended specs are above my compters.
my comp has...
2600+ (2.133GHz) AMD Athlon XP Processor
512MB RAM
Nvidia GeForce FX5200 128MB graphics card
180GB hard drive

if i ran this game on medium or low detail, would it still look exceptionally good? i hope to play online.

you will be able to play it just fine on low/med settings

It will look better than anything else you have played with that PC.

I used to run on medium, looked really good.

You'll struggle online though, HL2DM is rather demanding to what singleplayer is.
