Seriously, this community is sort of going down the drain. People are leaving and stuff, then one of them come back, but like Gorgon said it's not like old times.

I may not be a golden oldie like the other fantastic people on here but I have to agree with him fully, used to be alot more fun in these forums.
I'm thinking about leaving too.. I have alot of other stuff to deal with atm and it ain't going to be easier in the future.

I won’t ban you. You can leave if you want but you’ll come back... they always come back I’m sure many people have left these forums for a while and I’m sure a few are thinking about it now. We’ve been on these forums for over a year now and it’s not surprising the discussion has dried up a bit.

There’s very little more information available on Half-Life 2 now then there was twelve months ago. I’m sure once Half-Life 2 goes gold along with the masses of reviews appearing we’ll have more to talk about and the quality of discussion will be a lot richer.

Remember everyone has bad patches on the Internet and not everyone agrees with each other. If you don’t like certain people you can always report them to an admin like me or put them on your ignore list I do hope you stay because it would be a shame to see a long-time community member such as yourself leave.

Well said. It was fresh, fun and exciting last year. We've been through a shitload and now it' just annoying, frustrating and the pain endured waiting for HL2 is reaching ball-tearing proportions.

Everything thing to talk about has been talked about. All we can do now is read threads by new members posting year old news, new members posting information that has previously been posted 6 times by other new members, new members asking if their computer will run hl2, new members posting fake information in a nightly troll fest. It results in guys like Tred who want to just get the hell out of here.

We are symbionts with Valves yoyo marketing campaign. When they starve us we become angered and hungry. When they feed us we become fat plump , vibrant and full of life. The atmosphere on this forum is directly related to the status of HL2 and what Valve tells us.

Let me just say something, I feel that what the forums are currently going through right now may already be the lowest point that they will ever achieve, if you can survive this time frame then I can almost guarantee that you will find anything that happens in the future after HL2 is finally released will be easy to accept and easy to get through.

The good old times existed because HL2 was new, we had so much fun speculating on everything that everyone was friendly to each other (for the most part) and we had an incredible community. Since then however there has been nothing to talk about save the delay, nothing to talk about but the negative things about this whole story and that is what has resulted in the current situation we have come to now. Yet even now I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, once the game is released all of this will dissapear and this community will become a fun place to be again. It may not be the same as it was before but it will certainly be better than what it is now.
