can weather effect latency?

ive been getting some wierd ping lately and its been raining here so i was wondering if bad weather can have a negative effect on a dsl connection?

As far as I know weather really only effect wireless internet.

I don't know enough to explain anything right, but "it can" says the person on the phone of my internet provider. they say the broadband shit is extremely sensetive to interference, static or whatever she said.

I don't have wireless, but to be honest I don't know if I have satalite or underground cable broadband...

here's what works:

- power off or unplug everything and plug it back in after about 30 seconds you should be good to go. If you have a powerstrip that helps.
