Can you play Steam games while not on the internet?

Like say I have steam games on my laptop then I take it somewere with no internet can I still play them?

I don't think you can. But maybe, you could connect to Steam before leaving or something. I don't know.

Offline Mode fool.

Log into Steam, then click file then 'go offline'. It will ask you to restart Steam in offline mode. Once that is completed, disconnect your internet connection and you can play any single player game anywhere.

Of course you can. I played Half-life 2 and Portal always off-line.

Just start steam with no internet connection, it will then ask to retry connection or start offline, easy.

You have to have Steam and the games updated. Then just open Steam when not connected to the internet, you'll get the option to start in offline mode.
