Can you use CS:S weapons in hl2:s ?

How can you play hl2 using some of or all CS:S weapons ?. Is it possible to substitute one or more weapon(s) in hl2 with CS:S weapons ?.
 
Not unless you edit HL2 to have those available to begin with.
 
Not exactly sure, but I'm sure it's more work than it's worth.
 
We'd need an mdl decompiler to do it. Currently there is nothing in the sdk to let you decompile hl2 mdls.
 
I did it awhile before Counter-Life came out, but I'm sure that there isn't a .mdl decompiler availible because Fusion said so. As of right now, I'm updating the sdk so I can get into it to check. it's taking a helluva long time though, so a decompiler just might be what is in the update... *please, valve, please...*

You would need a mdl decompiler, there isn't one.

You would need to replace the CS hands with HL hands on the model (no easy task) and asign all the bones etc.. to the new model.

Then you would need to make sure the animations match in both .qc files, and recompile.
 
If for once one of you people who start threads searched the forums first you'd have seen, that on HL1 there was a mod that did this called Half-Strike, or Counter-Life, one of those things like that, half of both names, and if history repeats itself in mods, you will get one in the future...especially now this decompiler is out whatever it does.

I remember there was a mod for hl1 which made ammo and guns in hl1 money and life stations buy menus. Was really fun. Playing with cs weapons hl1.
 
all u got to do is edit the shortcut....
edit -applaunch 220 to -applaunch 220,240 <--No Space....
there.... u get everything from CSS and HL2

LOL if only it were that simple. Nice attempt though.

Also, we don't care that you got the decompiler. We've already stated that you can't recompile. Not to mention this is an incredibly hefty task to just explain to some noob who doesn't know what he's doing in the first place. I doubt you know a thing about modeling or .qc files, or compiling even!

Leave it alone, it isn't gonna happen.
 
Lol stuidomdl is glitchy as hell. There are different versions for each mod (DoD's is completely weird). It's doubtful that you'll get it to work for Source magically.

I want the other way around. I'd like to put some of the hl2 models in cs:s like the shotty.
