Anyone else see the Canadian Grand Prix earlier?

Wow...it was intense!

So much action, some good, some bad :(

Hamilton won his first Grand Prix and well done too hime, Alonso was driving like a fool and the Ferrari's were never on the pace, but he drove well to deal with 4 safety cars.

A great race, marred by Kubica's horrific crash, made me feel a bit queazy to see it. So glad he is ok, just a broken leg when it could've been much much worse.

Thoughts people?

It was a good race, I enjoyed it. Probably the best of the season so far, loads of drama, though the safety cars got a bit annoying. Hamilton did a great job considering how he kept his head when some of the more experienced drivers were losing theirs, including the two time world champion. Fernando Alonso was a bit unlucky that the safety car was deployed just before he had to make a pit-stop to refuel (meaning he had a 10 second stop and go penalty, which means you lose around 30 seconds overall) but even before that he didn't look on the pace of his team-mate. I doubt we'll be seeing a Super Aguri over-taking a McClaren again any time soon either.

Haha yeah Sato's move on Alonso was quality :D

Impressed by Lewis, great to see him win this race. Also go Sato! It was awesome to see when he just flew right past Alonso.

And yeah, pretty ugly crash. I'm glad that he made it out alive from it though.

The crash.

I love F1 racing. When I get my new TV, I'm probably gonna get the F1 game for the PS3.

Edit: Wow, I haven't seen a crash like that in a very long time. I'm glad he made it out.

Was a very nasty crash looking at it again, so lucky that he didn't hit the parked Torro Rosso or Liuzzi to hit the debris.

Medic teams were there really fast too.

Was expecting a Red Flag when i saw it initially

Haven't watched it yet :(

Timezones made it difficult for me to catch, and it's not on racingunderground.com just yet.

If the qualifying sessions were any indicator though, it must have been great. I recall that last chicane into the wall being pretty damn awesome to watch.

Good lord, says something about the cars if they can go through that and still have the cockpit intact.

10 years ago that crash would almost certainly have resulted in a fatality.

Must... Resist... Spoiling... The Race...

EDIT: Oh my god, that was a STUPID race. So many careless mistakes leading to entirely unnecessary yellow flags and safety cars.

More exciting than most others, but ended up being horrifically stupid in the process.

Good fun to watch though, although it got really boring towards the end. Good for Sato. I was VERY happy to see Alonso performing so badly initially, then ELATED to see him become dethroned by Hamilton, and then I ORGASMED when Sato finished off with a giant slap to Alonso's face, in the LAST LAP TOO :D

Great podium imo :)

Yeah was really happy to see Heidfeld up there, the BMW-Sauber team has been doing really well so far, so 'grats to him. Hopefully the team continues improving or he moves to Ferrari to replace Kimi next season :D

Shame about Kubica breaking his leg, but damn that was one of the worst crashes ive seen in recent F1 racing.

Was a simply awesome race though, how Hamilton kept his perfect composure i dont know, he was faultless.

Official word now is Kubica only suffered a sprained/bruised ankle and a light concussion. :D

It's amazing to think he slammed into a concrete wall at almost 200mph and comes out basically unscathed. Was pretty horrid watching the crash though, for a moment I thought he was ****ed.

Engineers on those driving 'pods' have to be saluted and congragulated, as thats the only thing that could have kept him alive considering the damage AROUND the seat and leg space.

There was probably a round of applause and corks flying every which way today, when they came into work

What is it that canadian grand-prix cars don't have?

A BOOT! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I don't really care for F1, but yesterday when I saw on a local news portal that Kubica had an accident I went like "O SHI-... /switches TV on"

Dekky failed =/

<3

Great to hear Kubica is ok, hopefully he gets to race at Indy :D
