Everything else works fine apart from cannonfodders studio compiler.. I was wondering if there was any way around this specifically without messing up the sdk programs.

Ive already refreshed the content and nothing, I dont want to fiddle with anything else unless i can be sure.

Thanks to anyone who can help.

Take a screendump of the error?
It sounds familiar.

Extra App ID set to 211, but no SteamAppId.

Same thing as before except its limited to cannonfodders compiler.

Isn't that the error you get if you haven't run a game yet?

its a problem with cannonfodders studio compiler, it needs to be recoded to work with the new sdk. this problem raised its head with the beta release, and if you removed the sdk beta, it would work. but now that its not beta, but released, we'll all have to wait for cannonfodder to recode his compiler. guistudiomdl is a good alternative until cannonfodder decides to recode.

you can always compile it normally using the command prompt like a real man!

I had the same problem and found a temp fix

what you need to do is remove the line

" SteamAppId 220 // This will mount all the GCFs we need (240=CS:S, 220=HL2)."

from the gameinfo.txt file in both the sdk/launcher and the particular game you're editing's folder.... this will let fodders tools work but then you'll have to add these lines back to the info texts when you want to open hammer.

Thanks folks :D, thats nice and clear.. im sure that will help some other people aswell.

yeah... people who arnt manly enough to compile it with the command prompt.

lol, well its not about being manly, its just much quicker and easier to compile a large group of completed props this way.

crackhead, I used to be like you, until I reliased I was a fool :p

cannon's tools let you use your own qc's so there's no loss of robustness

i think what you meant to say was "Crackhead i wish i was like you but i am just a fool"

perhaps :p

Frontends for teh win!!!! :D

Thanks Shinobi. I was googling around an answer to the problem and I ended up here.

One thing though, in the gameinfo.txt for the particular game you're editing, you should remove the "ToolsAppId 220 // Tools will load this (ie: source SDK caches) to get things like materials\debug, materials\editor, etc."

Don't remove the line above it, otherwise you get an error.

Didn't work for me either. The fixed version makes no change whatsoever, and neither does the changing SteamAppID (although i couldn't be bothered going through all of them). Any suggestions? (please, one that works, i must have tried like 5 differen copies :()
