Cannot even begin to install????

After the license agreement, on the setup screen where it shows you the destination folder and what is to be installed, when i click next to begin installing, i get a blank dialogue box, that says:

i cannot go from here, im stumped, this is pathetic. If i click ok, and try to hit next again, same thing happens. How am i supposed to start to try to resolve this if i dont get even a vague idea of what is causing this.

p4 2.6GHz, 1gb ram, 250gb HDD... i got what i need to run this nearly flawlessly... why wont it even start to install?

any help would be greatly appreciated.

I deleted my entire Steam folder and installed. Its crap because we were supposed to be able to "enter CD key and play". So thats what I did to get it to install.

Both Valve and VU are on my probably never again list. This is crap because with what is going on it appears one is spiteing the other and they are BOTH doing it. Guess who gets frustrated?
