cant get my ut2004 server to work. please help

hey.

im tryin to run a small 3 player dedicated server, the problem is i cant connect nor can anyone else to it. how do i connect? its all set up, my server is in the server list but i just cant connect to it. what could i be doing wrong?

whats the ip, wheres it located, what speed is it?

im on a 512k broadband, location is scotland. ip. not sure, i cant get the ip if its needed

if you put up a server from your own pc, i dont think you can connect, unless your on another pc, also, check if the firewall is blocking the port for the server

its from my pc, my firewall is down. what about making a listen server?

ah, maybe you need to update the server (patch) go to fileplanet.com or ut2k4 site and look for dedicated server patch upgrades

Why does everyone have the same avatar in this thread.....

Do you have a firewall Diablo? cant host a server if your on a router with a firewall except if you find a way to disable it.

Solution

I recently had this exact problem and was able to solve it.

If you have a router. you're gonna need to allow traffics on ports 7777-7778. Of course, if you DONT have a router, then you're problem is some kind of freak and I wash my hands of it. :angel:
