I just got my new 19" monitor.

My old monitor ran at a resolution of 1024*768.

Now everything is fine on the desktop, it's all at the same resolution and everything is fine but when I go in-game and go to choose the higher resolution of 2048 x 1024, it's not there :S

It still shows all the resolutions up to 1024*768.

What can I do to solve this?

Is that the LCD is your signature? Most run at 1280x1024.

If not check around in your video card control panel.

That resolution doesn't exist :E

1280x1024
Also make sure you haven't selected wide screen.

^ Hah. Yeah that's what I meant :P

Nvm, I seem to have got it working after installing a driver.

All I must say is that Viewsonic are confusing when it comes to getting the right drivers =/

WHY THE F**K DO YOU WANT TO RUN IT ON 2048 x 1024 !?!?!?

had to get it off my chest ;(

I get confused very easily when it comes to monitor resolutions.

My mind just goes into texture mode :P

All I can say now is ZOMG MY GUN IS BIG!!!11!!1

Well I think you can force it to run in that resolution by putting the parameters: -width 2048 -height 1024 . But I'm not responsible for any wtfpwnage of your computer :p

He can't force it to run at a higher resolution than his screen is designed for, right? He could only force it to run at say 1280x600 couldn't he?

Maybe it has been changed, but you used to be able to run at any resolution that you wanted (his screen would automatically deactivate if it's too high, though)

I've had that problem before with my laptop monitor. Almost all games are fine so I never bothered to look into it. If I have the problem again I'll try getting monitor drivers to replace the default XP ones.
