can't stop "hopping"

Heey, i've buyed Half life 2 episode two yesterday. I've played half life 2 and half life 2 episode one, so i thought that half life 2 episode two needed to be great too... but i've got a problem. Every time I'm walking on sand, gravel or grass, Gordon keeps "hopping". I've searched the forums but... Does someone knows what to do?

Are you sure you didn't pirate it? I heard these things happen only in pirated versions. Do you have steam?

If it's pirated and you bought it, I'm not sure what you can do. It happens EVERY time you play?

Is the hop slight, or is it as high as a normal jump (stuck keyboard button mapped to 'jump'?)

I don'thave a pirated version, i've got steam and it more looks like Gordon spawns over and over again... It looks like I get spawned a cm in the air and fall and spawned a cm in the air again, and again, and again... And it's every time im playing. If I walk on grass, stone or gravel, but not if I walk on solid things like metal.

(On some placed like in the voral coil, after you've past the antlion guardian, he crashes if you want to pass the guy with the medic kit. I needed to use r_rootlod 3, and that takes some textures away. Maybe I'm missing some files...)

Ok, I'm really f*cked up!
Info: I didn't bought it on steam but on marktplaats.nl, (it's a site where people place sell things they don't need anymore or just need to sell) .
Then when i've downloaded steam because i wasn't able to acces the archievements... but now I see on multiple forums that yu need steam to play the game... HOW WAS I ABLE TO PLAY IT WITHOUT STEAM THEN!? So I think i've now bought a illegal version :flame:

So I've lost my money, I have an illegal version and I can't play it even normally ;(

What now? Am I now illegal too?

Yeah you have an illegal copy of the game. All legal PC versions of the game use Steam. You're pretty much ****ed.

Play it in 32 bit mode. type in -32
