Wow this is my first time posting.. but ive been reading these forums for some time now. I just got done playing the prince of persia (by the way it is a really fun game) :cheers:

I was just thinking of all the capabilities of the Source engine, and thought of third person mods! I know it will be quite some time before good mods start showing up, but the first third person mod is going to be crazy !!! Fantastic shadows, bullet time ...can't wait .. its going to be like Max Payne, but ten times the graphics.

Max Payne but 10 times the graphics = Max Payne 2

Really, I don't think HL2 will/can look THAT much better than Max Payne 2 in many respects, but I'd love to be proven wrong

actually a thread discussing third person mods is an exellent idea.. a kickass mod imo would be like a prehistoric mod with all types of powerups... IE like you pick from two teams and have classes like "raptor" "t-trex" "triceritops" etc. with special abilities and downfalls.. and the melee would make for detachable limbs and stuff with all sorts of goodies like.. leveling up like in ns:C or somthing.. man the possibilities are endless! god I love thinkiing about what source could bring together

One mod I can't stop thinking about is Team Fortress. More specifically.. I can't wait to watch someone run down a cobblestone hall as the glow from flag they carry realistically glints off the walls. ABAGLABARQKD! I'm desperately hoping the devs don't turn TF2 into Battlefield or something similar.. no offence BF fans :X

Im kind of sick of FPS mods made out of a FPS game. Don't get me wrong I play counter-strike all the time it's just that I know all the mod makers out there can't wait to look threw this nicley put together source engine. It's just that, I would love to see a new and great third person mod some out of this engine, with all the detail that hl2 has and more. I would even buy the mod if it was worth playing.
Just think Max Payne 2 Online ..with 32 players and nades galore... can't wait . . ..................WOOT :rolling:

skater.. dude you would love the specialists for hl.. also they may make it for hl2 so lookout (unconfirmed)..http://www.specialistsmod.net/ anyways.. I cant wait to see 3rd person mods were you play as somthing that isint human! imagine slashing at somthing and tearing its limbs away and getting MULTIKILLS eating 3 people with a t-rex as there limbs ragdoll about! w00t!

edit: you can play specialists in third person.. but with hl2 IMAGINE THE PHYSICS POSSIBILITIES..!!!

I actually played The Specialists a lot, back when I used to go to LAN'S. Yeah I see what you mean, T-rex like mod.. wow I would play it in a heart beat :E
But I really love DOD and CS, but there weren't many GREAT 3rd person mods out there, maybe because of the not so great looking engine. But now look at the possibilities, they are nearly endless! I beat there are going to be like 100 different types of mods in the first year HL2 is released, ...good mods that is....
