Cars with class

The dream: Ferrari Testarossa

Anthraxxx's cars wouldn't be rice if it weren't for those stupid stickers. Never got why import tuners would turn perfectly good cars into rolling advertisements, unless they are actually getting paid for them.

Uh... they ARE getting paid to have the Amuse and MCR logos on them... seeing as how they are built BY Amuse and MCR, respectively. Those two cars are extremely awesome. You could youtube them and find videos of them performing on togue, circuit, etc...

hence, not rice. Those cars are pure class and show off the epitome of japanese engineering. I love how people automatically think a car is rice simply because it's japanese and has stickers on it. Dumbasses. Put a logo on an Aston Martin DB9, does that make it rice?

You have no idea what class is you dumb ****

The bong, while being much more interesting and flashy, lacks class.

I agree with Dalamari, quit posting that shit.

I don't mind if they put their own logo on it if it's done tastefully, but all the random parts stickers on the side need to go. I agree that Japanese cars need a serious boost in reputation(and this is coming from someone who prefers German and American autos), but these import tuning companies aren't helping at all.

Euro tuners know how it's done:

And yes, I would consider an Aston Martin to be riced-out if someone stuck tacky stickers to the side.

EDIT: That said, they do look and sound awesome in action if you watch the video...

Classy cars are more than just aesthetically appealing. They are both good-looking but also have a sort of personality. They're more than just the looks.

MINI_Cooper_D.jpg

(yes it's clear I don't know much about classy cars)

So what's do you consider a classy car?

A New Mini a classy car? Seriously?. Everytime i see one in the UK i first wonder if the driver even knows they're not British any longer, and then i wonder why someone would spend so much money on a car as fugly as the New Mini... (this is my opinion though but you said you dont know classy cars  )

This car is pure sexual tbh

As for classy, well it has to be

That car is so classy, and looks so wrong yet so right, even if it TVR's don't work much.

Classy or not, here's some cars I have always liked...

Audi S4 (Best in black, I like the '97 and '01 models the most)

Exactly opinion, fun thing that. I tend to like the design of the new mini over the old one.

And just as a final addition to the topic, here's a Nismo R34 Z-Tune, what an import tuner should look like.

No tacky stickers, mismatched "carbon fibre" parts, or tasteless paintjobs. Just pure car.

Already been posted by anthrax. While it is an amazing car I could only dream of ever getting I wouldn't say it's very classy. Only racers would own one, not rich or famous people.

Coolest car ever. Especially with the two extra headlights. I especially like the last line of oldschool Mini's they made, with a row of 4 rally lights in front of the grill. That's just bad-ass.

Something like this.

Coachbuilt_Mini.jpg

I don't think Jap cars are rice, just the ones that are technically rice. Stickers/bodykit/fart cannon, while still just a 4 cylinder. I mean, come on, pushing 120 hp to the wheels, and needing aerodynamic body kits, or wings the size of sky scrapers...and speed stickers, come on. Stickers of your engine parts on your fan shroud or somewhere in your engine bay, that's fine by me...but on the body? Go to hell...

whoever tries to trick out cavaliers and sunfires are just losers and need lives..NOW.

Haha, reminds me of what I was wanting to with my first car. I was going to get one of them blowers from teh big ol' V8's *I don't know Piston motors, don't kill me for bad terminology* and put it on the engine in my 1990 Mercury Topaz, and just use it, and get the sound of the engine reving loud on a CD and play it in my car, then get a string hooked up to move the flaps on the blower...oh yeah. Woulda made me laugh.

lmao, souping up a mercury topaz would've been awesome to see. It's just that cavaliers and sunfires (in my opinion) are ugly and crap to begin with. Even though Topaz's are ugly, you dont see much of them on the road, and the design itself isn't trying to be hip or cool, unlike cavaliers and sunfires.

I even respect people who soup up civics (the most common car in north america lol) more than i do people who soup up cavaliers n sunfires.

I personally can't stand when people go too far with tricking out cars. They have the most ridiculous paint jobs, the car is soo freaking low to the ground that it's virtually un driveable and they have spoilers that are like 400 ft. off the trunk..like seriously get a life.

examples:
6565.jpg

toyko_drift_05.jpg

like come on losers, get a freaking life...

But they need those spoilers to offset the huge amount of torque that they are getting off of the rear wheels.

Except for half of the people put them on front wheel drive cars...and the other have don't have anything but a CAI on their car, making the wing completely cosmetic.

*edit* just reminded me of this guy. I could take offense to some of the things he says, but then again, I can see exactly where he is coming from on 99% of his rants. Makes me laugh.

The Japanese can produce good quality cars, Lexus is an example, but everybody knows that they're generally useless at styling.

This is one example of where they got it right:

Zcar-side.jpg

Shit cars with plastic crap and shiny pipes are not class - they are SHIT.

It's so funny how all those cars of that time all looked like. From mazda -> Nissan -> Porshe, and this :p I sometimes get so confuses which is what!

They also did this, which is similarly beautiful:

But lately, they've been making shite like this:

:(

While we are talking about the japs, they have made other good cars that often turn into ricers despite amazing potential. Such cars as the supra which can become one of the sexiest and fastest cars.

lol, any car can become the "fastest" car :p Just depends how many tens of thousands of dollars you can pump into it. If I had 50ish grand to toss at a car, I could put a 2.6 rotary, huge turbo, etc etc into and reach ~1k hp easily... So really, any car is the fastest car in the rich mans hands :p

Anthraxxx posted another modded Skyline, that had all the stickers and carbon fibre and bad paintjobs I was talking about. It's hard to call it "rice" given its performance, but its looks didn't help it.

I don't think people understand what "rice" or "rice burner" really mean. Let me help.

More contemporary use of the term rice burner, along with the prefix rice, has taken on an alternate pejorative meaning for an automobile that has been modified to give impression of high performance, but does not necessarily have any high-performance capabilities. This practice is in direct contrast to the "stealth" or "sleeper" style of automotive modification, where a vehicle may have major performance modifications, but the appearance remains similar to that of a stock model. In this manner, the appellation can apply to any vehicle regardless of country of origin. The most commonly modified cars are sport compacts, but the term can apply to any class of vehicle, including trucks.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rice_burner

The car can have as many stickers as it wants, and still not be a rice, if it has the performance it's trying to live up to with the "rice mods". So the S2000 and such isn't rice, because they are truly fast cars anyway.

That's not necessarily true. If I put 10G into a supra and then 10G into a civic they wouldn't be anywhere close. A supra has amazing potential without a need to completely re do the car. In order to get a civic up to par you would have to completely redo the car and I doubt even then you wouldn't be able to fit a big enough engine and mods in there without having to do major mods. At that point it wouldn't be a civic anymore. That goes for a lot of cars, some have more potential than others which is why they are popular for street racers because they come fast or have good potential.
