Catalyst 4.3 drivers are out

Holy Jebus... how many driver releases are they going to do?

:borg: I've noticed more quality, like more detail. Also i've noticed a little bit better framerates in games. 10/10 for this release.

Ive noticed a small quality performance increase when running games such as chrome and farcry. Gone are the days of screwy ati drivers

So, do I just download the display driver, or do I need to go the whole hog and get the control panel and WDM Capture driver too?

I hope this helps with the FarCry Demo... I just installed it and it runs great, but there are black marks over all the objects that are supposed to be normal-mapped...

Yes, i noticed an increase on my 3dmark'03 score with this driver version.

Went from 6226 to 6248. Small increase, but better than going down. :E

Hmm, a 000.4% increase. I'd say that's probably within the margin of error. You'd think pixel shader support that had "improved considerably" would yield more than that. What were your before and after PS2.0 scores?

My 3dmark03 score went from 5457 to 5794 after I installed the driver. I don't know what you're running for a system, but I have a pretty good one, wonder why your scores are so much higher than mine.

[MLB]Loser, i've got my system overclocked. AthlonXP @ 2.3GHz (stock 2.1GHz) and 9800 Pro @ 430core/371memory (stock 378/337). But you have an Athlon64, i think your scores are a little low for your system. You should be scoring in the low to mid 6000's...look into some tweaking.

Its year then month I believe. Since its 2004 you get the 4 in front and since its march you get the 3 for the third month. So you get 4.3 and I believe their goal is to do one update once a month. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Whats a good site for tweaking? I'm not really interested in overclocking.

So, what I need to do is:

Download the drivers, ONLY the drivers -not control panel.
Uninstall the old ones called "ATI Display Drivers"
Close all aplications with ctrl+alt+del with exception of 2
Install the new drivers and then restard

Right?

Iirc you need the control panel too.

I downloaded the drivers but haven't tested them yet, and im leaving for the weekend so I won't be able to test them untill sunday.

Why do you need the control panel, though?

Could we have an answer from someone who is sure, please?

It allows you to set D3D/OpenGL/rotation/color/overlay/etc settings

yup, just DL the one for high speed connections, should have everything you need in that.

GAAAHHHH!

What I'm asking is: I have Version 3.9.

I want to get 4.3.

So is the control panel revised each month too, or what?

And I don't have a High speed connection!

My monitor is about to get some new forehead-prints...
