Catalyst 5.7

are these ones supposed to work with mobility cards yet? i know the support is coming but i'd like to know if i'm gonna need to mod the cat 5.7's to use them

great, i hope they help my bf2 probs...

edit: guess not

Battlefield 2: Geometry corruption or missing textures maybe noticed when playing the game for an extended period of time under Windows XP with an ATI Radeon® X800 XT installed. Further details can be found in topic number 737-19709

doh, i get this prob.

Remember the performance increases are only for cards with 128MB or 64MB memory. Some people have said to gain +20fps in BF2. I'm going to do some benchmarking and post the results soon.

in relation to bf2

This new set of drivers actually made things worse. I now have significant stuttering, even in single player, when before it was near flawless.

I think its time for ATI to stop devoting resources to increasing the performance of useless benchmarking programs for the e-penis strokers, and get down to fixing real world applications.
what this guy said @ totalbf2.com, im now getting more stutter than before and more texture corruption on maps i never had it with like karkand

Results (Battle at Karkand was the map):

Catalyst 5.7

Game crashed.... I was playing Battle at Karkand, when suddenly I noticed a bug, I could see through walls! Then when I tried to take a screenshot out of it my comp restarted.

So I gained a little more fps.. And got more bugs!!! Every time it's the same with these catalyst's! But the game did run way more smoothly when playing in Low-mode, BUT it ran WAY more choppy when playing with everything high.

edit: Forgot to mention my system specs:
AMD xp 2400+
Abit Nf7 rev2.0
768mb 400ddr
Club3d 9800np

9xxx series should still eb using catalyst 4.12-based drivers. The 5.x series are optimized fo rthe newest cards, x300, x600, x700, etc., with not alot od attentio paid to the past gen of cards.

I am currently using and x850xt, and the only difference from this one to the past version is the addition of a functional auto-overclocking utility in the CCC version. performance is about the saem, however the auto-overclcoker is not quite perfect yet.

wtf??
they should make the drivers for all cards not just the newer ones.........
this complete bullshit

If they were only intented for newer cards, I doubt they would bother optimizing for cards with 128mb memory, and definitely not for cards with 64mb memory. I'll get them later, not now.

theres no problem for me.........
bf2 runs just the same as it always has........

Negative. I'm running a 9800 pro 128mb, and my performance has DECREASED while playing Counter-Strike: Source. Used to get 100+FPS on Dust with Low model detail and High Texture detail, yet now I get stuttery performance (30-FPS) with less background programs running. Terrible.

I dont' think I will upgrade my drivers, my pc is working fine as it is, no need to really. Don't want to mess it up.

I installed these drivers and my memory usage went from 140mb's to 260mbs. These things must use alot more memory than any of the previous ones.
