Catalyst Drivers.

Does anyone know how good the latest Catalyst Drivers held up?
I finally got my uber 1337 PC running, and am wondering if it had any issues.
 
No offense, but this is the most stupid thread I have ever seen. Ever.
How about... Uhm... *TESTING* if you have issues? Its not like you have a choice if you want to run anything on an ATI card.
 
4.1 drivers are crappy. tried running the Far Cry demo and everything ran like shite. went back to good old reliable 3.6.

EDIT: oh you bitches you changed the background colour that the logo sits on, now my avatar looks odd...damn you.

4.1 work fine for me. I've only tried the FC demo on 4.1, 3.9 and the latest omega drivers, all ran about the same.

dawdler, that's a little extreme. GV has used older catalyst drivers, he was wondering if there was any compatibility/performance issues with the 4.1s

As for your avatar, so fix it :) lol
 
grrrr...fixed it..made me go through all that effort damn you.

i've always wondered why so many people have varying results with the same catalyst drivers. what card are you lot running? i've got a Radeon 9700 Pro and 3.6 are about the only ones that i can rely on for solid performance. since they introduced the VPU restart thingy my card has been messing up more often.
 
I'm running a 9700.. I've never really noticed a performance increase/decrease in any of the revisions =(

I was asking if the new drivers have any problems. I haven't installed them yet, I'm only using the drivers that came with my Card.
Jeez!
 
I have a plain 9600, and if I use anything previous to 3.10, I have monitor problems when first booting up.

Of course people have problems. People always have problems. Problem is, all people dont have the problems :)

Thus, you cant say "This driver is good" or "this driver is bad". It can vary wildly from person to person.

And firstly this is the wrong forum, and secondly this is hardly the place at all to ask the question. I suggest rage3d.com, they have a special catalyst tech support forum for discussing any problems with the drivers, and you can get ALOT of help there as many peeps posting are testers and even on occasion the driver devs...
 
im running the 3.10 ATI drivers....just got them in today..***ns great
 
CAT 4.1's run everything smooth for me. IMO best thing to do with new driver releases is try 'em out...if your games take a performance hit or apps are unstable just roll back to your previous drivers.

Every post like this that i read from a mod just reinforces my belief that the majority of the mods here suck...no offense though. :rolleyes:
 
I downloaded CAT 4.1 too and loaded up the Farcry demo and it ran poorly, how do I get back to 3.6?
 
damn, i downloaded Farcry demo and i got fuked up graphics man!!!(With the 4.1 drivers) running a 2.67 ghz
9700 128 mb ddr
80 hdd
512 mb ddr
it was all fuked up for everything, i tried chaning all the texture settings and nm changed....:(

Killj00, I get the same problems, I usually find that a reboot helps ;)

It's just Far Cry sucks ATi Card wise :/
 
well i tried rebootin and still dont work...damn farcry..not 9700 friendly :( ah well...

I have a radeon 9800 Pro and it runs fine on the 4.1 drivers... Are alot of the other cards Radeon having alot of problems with Farcry??
 
Mine is, but I fixed it with patched drivers. Killj00, can you post a screenshot of the problem?
 
I'm running the 4.0 and have no problems what so ever.
 
4.1 is the problem Maxi ;)

And most of the instances with Far Cry errors have been with 4.1

yeah as soon as i get back home i'll take a couple screenies...i was waiting for the demo to come out and then when i played it, all the graphics were fuked up...:(

I am working as the Multiplayer/AI Coder & Security for Citizen-132.

You obviously haven't looked at our mod or have a mental block for mods or are just too stupid(no offense :)) to be able install any anyway so you diss them all.
 
i have a 9600 pro... worked like a charm with 4.1 I updated to 4.2 so havent tried it with 4.2 yet :dozey:

Dont ever believe that sh1t man, the mod community is just as important as the established game developers...

besides, aslong as your having fun being creative and if atleast one person plays your mod and enjoys it then you're successful.
