Cause and Effect is a survival horror mod inspired by movies like 28 Days Later and Dawn of the Dead. Recently, they held a contest within their community for the best drawn zombie. They have picked their winners.[br]
From left to right, are 3rd place to 1st place:[br]

[br]Congratulations to the winners! Cause and Effect plans to give the 1st place winner a cameo in their mod, as well as the runner-ups a spot in the ending credits. Pretty cool![br]
If you would like to learn more about this mod, go to their website.

pretty cool, but i was expecting more typical zombies. its ok that theyre going in a different direction, but what i liked about 28 days later was the "believability" of the whole situation.

looks to me like the same dude won all 3 places.

regardless.....PWNAGE

polyguns: Haha, no, our concept artist MechaGodzilla drew and colorized concepts of the winners' ideas. The winning ideas were simply submitted in text form, and we took that and designed zombies around them.

The actual winners are:

3rd place: CAE Forum member "Scodo"
2nd place: Erin Cleary
1st place: CAE Forum member "TacoNinja"

Yeah, bit of a typo there. :p I sketched out the concepts based on the entrants' text submissions.

Also, @ kaf: These three are definitely more on the extreme side of things. I'd estimate that 50% of the in-game monsters will be standard zombies, with these evolved types rounding things out and adding more variety to the encounters.

Those look cool as hell. Heh, as hell. Get it? They're zombies.

eh, it's late.

Yeah, looks like the same guy did them all :D
I love the third one ( from left )

so many of us in survival horror mods dihluting the talent pool. shame theres never any unions to speed up the process and get content out faster :(

I think one reason why survival-horror mod teams are unwilling to merge is that each team is dedicated to whatever premise and style they've been working on. If I were to merge my team with another, I honestly wouldn't want to give up anything that I've worked on, be it plot, gameplay, atmosphere, or character design.

yea, even if it means failure, people won't give things up.

im much more practicle myself. Ideas are a dime a dozen, everyone thinks their ideas rock, and thats neat and all, but implementation is really the only thing that matters imo. creating a good game.

i like that site design tho, its really sloppy and bloody :), could use scabs tho ;) why does all blood have to be so fresh?
